Stopped in Elko for breakfast before visiting my son in Carlin. It looked good from other Yelp reviews. The Coffee Mug has a great atmosphere. Great decor and nice vibe. Clean. Waitress sat me right away and took my drink order. Menu has a lot of options. I went for the Popeye omelet with full eggs not eggs whites. It came with a choice of pancake or biscuit and I chose the pancake. Also choice of hash browns or country potatoes. Food arrived very quickly. The omelet was delicious. There was a side of salsa that added nice flavor to the country potatoes. The avocado was on top and very fresh and perfect ripeness. I could not finish all my food. I did try the pancake and it had a nice texture but I'm sugar free so I only had it with butter. It was your standard pancake nothing too exciting. Very happy with my visit to Coffee Mug and I will be back should I find myself in Elko any time soon.

Came in twice on a weekend visit from Vegas, first for coffee and pie, then the following day for breakfast. While the cherry pie was satisfactory, the breakfasts were totally bomb ?. I liked how all the booths had power outlets. At the breakfast we had a party of 11 on a Sunday morning, and though crowded, they were able to seat us pretty quickly. Our motley breakfast party consisted of friends both local and from the western part of the state. Everybody loved the food, and splitting the check was not problematic. The service was very welcoming, attentive, yet not obtrusive. Highlights included house-made chicken-fried steak and eggs, house ground round steak and eggs, and house-made corned beef hash and eggs. Everything was IMHO under-priced for the value??. This will def be my go to spot for breakfast upon future visits to town.

It's a wonderful restaurant for any time of the day. My favorite is during breakfast. It has great service, but sometimes they get very busy so you need patience. The best way to enjoy it is to be relaxed and feel at home. The pies here are Delicious! Especially the peanut butter pie. They also offer a Veteran's discount for us vets.

I went to brunch with my family at 11:30 am on Monday. The hostess Monica was very snotty. We are a hispanic family and I felt racism towards us. Monica had an unhappy face and did not greet us. She spilled water on our table and tossed the drinks and straws at us, she did not apologize. My dad's card wasn't able to swipe and she had to put in the numbers and tossed the card back at him and told him to get a new card. This was very upsetting because I have been a costumer at Coffee Mug since 2015 and attend the restaurant at least 5 times a month. I have never had such bad service towards my family and I. I don't know why Coffee Mug would have a hostess like Monica attending my family. We will never return.

Was hoping for soup. However, it was a Fri and seems like every one only does clam chowder. Not everyone does clam chowder. So, we opted to share the hot open face turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy, with cranberry sauce. Was really good and was a very large plate(why we shared and was more than enough for 2). Mashed potatoes were homemade, not instant, big plus, gravy was very good, turkey was a little dry, but the gravy made it good. Waitress was awesome. In old town Elko. Very old west. Very nice mom and pop family restaurant with 3rd generation. Will stop by again on our return trip back home. We're from Cheyenne Wyoming on our way through to visit family in Central California ?

Stopped by for a quick dinner while traveling through, and loved the place. The wife ordered the Monte Cristo sandwich, which honestly we didn't care for. But it was excellent quality ingredients and a really interesting idea. Large menu, good service, nice atmosphere. We got a slice of cake to share with the family and it was super yummy. I definitely will stop by again when we're traveling through next.Kid-friendliness: Decent assortment that should please most kids. The staff was very friendly to my kids.

Great local diner. Great food, good prices, and the gravy on the biscuits was really tasty. The waitress was attentive and very responsive to our needs.
