“It’s been since before the lockdowns that I have been here. At the time, the owner was selling and opening a new restaurant in South Lake Tahoe near my home, but that fell through, so I was surprised to find him and his son still here.He makes his own fries, which are AMAZING, as is the coleslaw, and I’m a slaw snob.My next door neighbor had the Rueben and loved it. She’ll definitely come back with her family as will I.Please support this family owned business. You won’t be disappointed!“
“We have been going to Basecamp for over 9 years as we lived on Stateline. We now live in Minden and go to Heavenly Village to hang out and eat, listen to live music, etc. Let me say that out of all the servers we have ever had. Alydia, I think that is how you spell her name. This girl was on top of everything! Great service she never forgot one thing we asked for, she would look over to see how full my glass was. wow! this girl is AMAZING! She had a smile on her face the whole time. I hope to sit in her section next time we eat there. We appreciate you Alydia :o)“
“Don't let the unassuming entrance fool you; there's a great cocktail bar in here. The menu is interesting and the bartenders are talented. The only issue here is the price, frankly. $22-25 per cocktail is wild, even for Tahoe. Lots of people mention the mandatory cover charge for live music also; we didn't have a cover, as there wasn't anyone performing at the time. If you tacked on another $15 per person to our experience, I would've dropped another star from this review. It was worth checking out, but I'm not sure we'll be coming back considering the price. There are other places a short walk away with good vibes and cocktails for far less.“
“Great family friendly local spot to sit outside when the weather is good and catch up with friends. Sometimes there is live music (Love it when Robin Orr plays). The beer and hard kombucha selection is great. It's also fun to go mini golfing next door before heading to the Hangar.“
“Good, traditional steak house. Excellent steaks. Great wine list and cocktails. What sets this place above others is the impeccable service. Our waiter, John, was so warm and attentive. He made us feel welcomed and elevated the dining experience. John is 100% the best part of dinner. It was my daughter's 7th birthday and we treated her to a nice steak dinner. John brought her TWO desserts-cake and chocolate covered strawberries...complimentary. It made her day and this birthday was so special. I highly recommend this place for special occasion dinners. The ambiance was perfect.l with the thick velvet curtains and leather booths.“
“My first time and I ordered the patty melt on sourdough special. It was pretty tasty and spot on. I ordered the sidewinder potatoes as well and those were also good. Could use a little bit better beer selection, but overall I would go back.“
“Joanna treated me to an early dinner at the JT Basque restaurant in Gardnerville, Nevada. Joanna had chicken and I had lamb chops. But first the waitress brought out soup and bread. And then a simple lettuce salad with oil and vinegar dressing, which I loved! And then beans and lamb stew, which was tender and tasty. The sides are brought out family style and you get what you want. I paced myself because I knew more food was coming. Finally, lamb chops with roasted mushrooms and garlic. Delicious! I told Joanna about the Basque people from an area in the Pyrenees mountains between France and Spain who had a unique culture and language. They emigrated to the US in the 1800s and herded sheep in western Nevada and the Sierra Nevada mountains.“
“We stayed in an indie king room with the bunk beds. The location can't be beat and the food (breakfast, beer garden) is quite good compared to other offerings in the area and convenient. The restaurants our particular weekend all filled up early. The kids enjoyed the hot tub and s'mores firepit. There was a wedding one night, but the hotel shut it down right at 10pm so it was quiet, and we were on the side directly above the beer garden. Biggest downsides is the walls are thin (the lady next door fell asleep with the tv on) and the heater is very loud / or not that strong. But we were there in fall so maybe it's stronger in the winter.“
“Great environment great drinks and hands down the best meat lovers pizza with the white sauce and some of the best seafood chowder there is! Will definitely come back time and time again. The bartender was awesome and provided excellent service as well.“
“The food and drinks are good, but the service is incredible! My family and I enjoyed some drinks and lunch out front, and the bartender checked on us several times with the most pleasant conversations, AND was incredibly accommodating to our cranky a** toddler. I'm considering moving here just to be friends with this gal lol Definitely recommend :-)“
“We live locally and find this the best spot for shell fish on the menu. Super traditional New England clam chowder. Best pricing in the area and parking validation for 2 hours, too. Worth the drive down the mountain. Shout out to excellent staff, every time.“
“I am an out-of-towner and decided to stop in to check this place out. This is the best place in Gardnerville to get a drink. The bartenders Chris and Trent know how to make a person feel comfortable absolutely wonderful wonderful people.I visit town once or twice every three months or so and I make it a priority to stop in, have a drink, relax and enjoy the hospitality this establishment brings. And what they have done during this crisis has been an accomplishment in itself. Adjusting to have karaoke and drinks on the back deck was awesome. You had social distancing Mask and you could sit or stand in the parking lot and surrounding areas and enjoy karaoke. During this crisis it is a relief that someone in the community cares and respects and goes to the extremes as Buckaroos to continue wonderful service in the safest manner. THANK YOU!!!“
“What a cool dive bar. Pool tables, free on Monday nights.. The crowd here is low key on week nights and they have live DJs on the weekends which completely changes atmosphere! the bartender Bryan, I believe, played us in pool. Cool atmosphere… if you’re looking for a place to go to kill some time and have a good time with Authentic people, here is the place to come!“
“We have been coming to Sonneys for trivia night for the last 2 months and everything has been on point! Service is top notch and everyone is so friendly. The food does not disappoint at all. The Corn chowder is the best soup in the valley. I have yet to eat something I didn't like. If you haven't been you gotta go!“
“Had a really great experience with this crawl! Never done a crawl before so I was happy to have done this one first. We went to 4 venues during the night. At 3 of the venues, we were welcomed with complimentary shots. We stayed about 1 hour at each, and then ended the night at a local nightclub in the casinos. I would recommend this crawl and I would definitely do it again! Thanks for a fun time“
“Genuinely, I would not have expected the Hilton, where I stayed to have a spot like BMBG. It was a spot that I went to for lunch when I arrived with my friends on the first day of our trip to Tahoe simply because it was convenient. Yet, my whole group kept going back for an after skiing snack and for their pretty impressive drinks. If you are staying in the Hilton, take advantage of having this spot in your hotel. If you are in the area, I'd say it's worth dropping in to try it! Also, go Dale, he is the best!“
“It was nothing to cheer about, but it wasn't horrible. I would eat there again, but it is far from homeParking: Tight for bigger vehiclesWheelchair accessibility: It's there, I can't say more than that, I don't use it“
“Dined at this fine establishment with my family for the first time last night and really enjoyed everything about it. The restaurant was charming, the service was prompt and polite and there was even a gentleman playing lovely tunes on a keyboard. I will say that the food portions were on the smaller side but for me personally, that's the way I prefer it and especially if it's really good. And I will say, the halibut I ordered and the chicken cacciatore my wife order was fabulous. Same can be said about the lemon cake we had for desert. For as long as we've lived in Carson City, I'm a little disappointed in myself for not coming down to eat here sooner. We'll be returning for sure!“
“The town of Genoa Nevada. The oldest town in Nevada. The Genoa bar and saloon. It is a one of a kind old time bar. Its' history is rich. The decor and building much the same as a hundred years ago, alebit electricity, juke box, and pool table. The bar counter rigid and worn. Ginger the bartender was friendly and warm. For me a Budweiser and a couple of shots of makers whiskey.Square dancing night across the street. In all a fantastic time. A place you need to visit if you like history and bars with gritParking: Ample free parking lot and both sides of street.“
