Food is great. Arrived to the restaurant and saw pleanty of open tables, hostess said its about a 20min wait. Put out name down and waited. 30min later got sat, still multiple tables opened and available. Service was just okay. Food was amazing! Great food, yet mediocre service. Don't understand the wait time when multiple tables are opened and free!

I'm a local and have always gone to Big Al's and loved it. Since the renovation the menu has changed quite a bit and it does not have most of the dishes I always got when I came here. It's just not the same anymore and I'm very disappointed with the menu change.

Went to Orleans for oysters we mainly go to Albers and Birch for happy hour but apparently they stop it since January I told the manager we're just there Feb.9 she rudely interrupted me mid conversation and said the servers just forgot to take out the menu!! Rude rude rude service!!! So we went to Big Al's wasn't busy which is good but I'm guessing they're short stuff cause we never got drink refills till we ask. Nobody in the restaurant knows the difference of the oysters they serve. I know for sure I won't go back except for the BOSTON CLAM CHOWDER this chowder is the only thing I can recommend. This is a saddest review I've ever done.

Our friends celebrated his birthday ( his 70ish ) at this place....was surprised to see the newly remodeled place , clean and nice ambiance. Food was great and we had our server SHARON who was very nice lady and she have a great personality , she's just right to be with customers very pleasant and happy person. Sharon keep up the good work you're doing.More power to you!!!!

Absolutely horrible. The food here taste decent although I've tasted better elsewhere. The service really needs to change however. It took approximately 20 minutes before I was even approached by a worker for my drink order. I asked her what she thought about a particular item on the menu and her immediate response was...I'm not sure, I'm not your server. So I thanked her and started drinking my drink while I waited 10 minutes to be approached by the server. When asking her about that item she immediately responded with "we don't have it". So I asked her for another few more minutes to review the menu. She returned after 15 minutes more to take my order. It has been 40 minutes so far and no food. Mind you all I ended up order was 1/2 doz oysters. There is only 11 guests here as well as myself and I am the last to receive my food. I know this establishment can do better.

Josie and Yolanda make the most incredible, delicious Boston Clam chowder I've ever had! I highly recommend this restaurant. The Manager Laura really looked after us. GREAT job Team!

I hate to do a negative review. However, this dining experience was downright terrible. If I could give this place negative stars I would. The only reason they got a star is the chef who prepares the main dish is very good. I remember him from years back and he is hard working, friendly and prepares the best dishes. I used to come here years ago before Covid. Back then it was delicious. The food was fresh and the service was top notch. Fast forward 2024…it has taken a nose dive. We requested for bar seating since the wait was supposedly shorter. The hostess said they just need to just wipe the bar counter and took our phone number. This took well over 15 minutes while we waited at the podium only for my husband to look and there were many tables as well as bar seating available. We informed her and she seemed so unaware of what was going on but we finally sat down. I ordered the seafood gumbo and it was downright awful. It was not even edible. It was absolutely disgusting! The soup was so thick and super salty. It seemed as it was cooked days prior. I exchanged it for their clam chowder and that was just as bad. The chowder was super thick as if it’s been sitting for a long time. I couldn’t mange to eat it. I ordered a caesar salad and it was basic. The manager kept looking at his employee behind the counter with disdain. The employee behind the counter was struggling chucking oysters. From my observation there was a disagreement between him and the staff or the manager because he walked off. There was a lot of chatter back and forth between the staff themselves and the manager. The waitresses were in a frenzy trying to figure out whats going on. To order, get a drink, a refill, and our food we had to ask the waitress every time. I mean…every time. We ordered a dozen oysters for $45 which is not bad at all but definitely not quality. At this point I was so disappointed and disgusted by the food we finally left. The manager acknowledged us and was friendly but a little too late. This place has definitely gone down from its days of glory. Don’t believe me? Look at the food photos. We spent a little over $100 and it was money wasted. We love to dine out and have no problem spending money however when the food is bad..there is nothing worse. If you dine here proceed with caution. I would recommend a dish prepared by the head check himself and skip the soups and gumbo and salads.

Date night with the wife. This is our second visit and the food and servicekeeps getting better each time. This time we had the Linguine and clams with Jambalaya. For appetizers we had the Raw oysters and steamed muscles. All was delicious! We are leaving extremely stuff with a smile on our face.
