I guess I had too high expectations coming to this restaurant due to the reviews and Facebook posts that I've been seeing.Sadly, it didn't deliver.The quality of meat that we got served was not to our liking. I had to send back my prime rib because it was as if cut by a kid. It didn't look appetizing at all since the meat was cut poorly and unevenly and had too much fat. See the photo how the meat was half the thickness of the bone. As if someone cut a slice from it before served. They replaced it with a better one.My husband's new York steak had too much of the tough membrane that about half couldn't be chewed. It's worse than choice cut.The oysters were like baby oysters coz they're very small.Calamari and escargot were ok. Nothing special.They don't have merlot by the glass.It was a little too loud inside the restaurant, maybe because it was a full house. We could barely hear the music.They gave us birthday cake slices, no happy birthday song.Overall, I wasn't impressed. I wish it was better experience for us since it was our first time. Unlike other steakhouses that we've been to, we didn't have any wow moment at the Golden Steer in terms of food and service.

We were excited to get a reservation and celebrate our special day. It was an extremely busy day at the Golden Steer but they should be use to that right?Food excellent. Wine and other drinks fantastic...We were seated 30 minutes late but ok....busy... Our service from Chris was lacking from start to finish. Left us feeling that we were bothering him by asking questions about the menu, pricing and history of the restaurant. Have had much better service from chain restaurants...Towards the end of our "experience" Chris was no where to be found. Disappointing. Especially for the grand that we spent.
