came here because keith lee said this was the best mac and cheese of his life. it was so difficult to find the correct location. there are 3 different spots with different addresses, phone numbers, and websites across yelp and apple maps. we showed up at the first one and walked around in circles trying to find it. good thing we called one of the numbers on yelp and confirmed the address with the person who picked up the phone because we would have driven to the second address probably to not find the restaurant once again since the worker said they only have one location. please please fix this issue it was extremely frustrating we almost gave up. as for the mac and cheese, it was creamy and packed with flavor, but I do typically prefer mine with a bit of crunch from breadcrumbs and broiled cheese on top. we also got their grapes since so many people on yelp ordered these and said they are worth it. listen to them. it is very worth it. the perfect grape on their own. perfectly crispy and crunchy and huge and then you add their strawberry shortcake crumble on top and wow you have got to try this! i also liked the dj they hired to play inside.

It seems like a scam to me. I have gone to this location and there is no restaurant there at all. I have called and get nothing but a voicemail and no reply. Seems like a scam to me..

GIVE SHELLY A RAISE! Omg when I tell you she saved this place from getting a bad review I really mean it. The food was amazing, Mac and cheese, greens, brussel sprouts, yams, salmon, oxtails all taste BOMB. Customer service is as completely opposite it was trash, garbage, dumpster juice. We waited over an hour for our food. And honestly that wouldn’t have been a huge issue if the cashiers would’ve just communicate that. The cashier told use after waiting 35 mins our food would be ready in 10 more minutes, 20 mins later she had to nerve to say “I’m not back there in the kitchen so I don’t know how long it will be”. So I asked for a refund, then Shelly asked me my info and got my food to me. She was amazing and seem to be the only one that really cared about getting us our food. I was also pissed cause we dined out paid $70 for the food including a 15% tip just for being black owned, which we feel was a complete waste unless it goes to Shelly. We really appreciate her kindness and customer service even after I got an attitude with her. Thank you again Shelly they need more people like you working there.

service is horrible. Got unprofessional kids at the counter. They tell you to text your order they never put it in. They tell you 10 more minutes 100 times.

The food is good. But the customer service ? TERRIBLE! I ordered my food 2 hours before arriving to the restaurant and still had to sit and wait for another hour. The girl at the register continued to tell me that they were "looking for my order". Last time I ordered here my wait was 3 hours for some steak and Mac and cheese. Definitely regret giving them a second try. NEVER AGAIN

It was our first time trying out this place. We came here based on Keith Lee's reviews. We ordered the jerk chicken meal with 2 sides of Mac/cheese and rice. We also ordered a Cajun meal with 2 sides of mac/cheese with rice. We waited over an hour for our food. I thought our food was freshly prepared is to why I thought it took so long. When we finally got our food, it was warm. Mac/cheese was really greasy on both plates that all I tasted was dripping oil. Cajun chicken tasted average and jerk chicken had a lot of flavor to it but both tasted dry. Some pieces were hard. Both chicken was also really greasy. The thin layer of white rice was topped with chicken and the rice was very greasy. The rice tasted 50/50 soft and hard. Overall, I wouldn't come back. The price was too expensive for average tasting food. We spent about $50 for just two plates and the quantity wasn't much. I wasn't full.

This very large but unassuming Creole spot in a stripmall off Decatur and Lake Mead has murals on the walls and a step-and-repeat for selfies. You can place your order online for pick-up (or dine-in) or you can place your order in the far, left corner. The menu is available by QR code or via a banner that hangs from the ceiling above the registers. The font size is perfect for reading without needing to squint, but it might take you a moment (depending upon the crowd) to spot the menu or the order counter because the colors of the menu blend a bit into the murals. The drink case and light from the kitchen behind it provide the best clue since their counter is the same height as the many, identical, six-top tables in the dining hall --which is huge. The kitchen is obscured from view but careful observers will notice movement among the stacks of plastic take-out containers jest left of center in the rear of the dining area, as the chefs on the other side of them plate each orders. This is one of those restaurants that has the buzz and energy of a spot that is about to blow up. I went from never having heard of it to seeing three posts on my IG about it, and luckily before I had solidified my lunch plan. Like many soul food eateries and especially those with an Afro-Carribean lean, there is a lot of seafood on the menu. I can't eat shellfish so I opted for the oxtail meal, choosing the mac n cheese and street corn sides. They were out of their homemade watermelon lemonade so I went with the drink fountain lemonade and wisely opted for the Taffy Grapes dessert. The oxtail are loaded with flavor and the portion is large, served atop a bed of white (possibly jasmine) rice that perfectly absorbs the drizzle of delicious fat from the roasted proteins. You can slice the meat from the bone with a plastic fork, but like me you'll probably end up gnawing every scrap like it's a baby back rib. Prep is crucial with an oxtail dish lest the fat be overcooked causing a hard, unpleasant, gristle-y texture. None of that here, as the meat was cooked perfectly. Turnaround time was pretty quick, too. I've heard that seafood dishes can take longer and I also lucked-out getting here pretty soon after they opened so there wasn't much of a crowd here yet. By the time I finished eating (with about half leftover for later), most of the tables were occupied by people waiting or already enjoying their meals. The Mac 'N Cheese is excellent. The cheese blend is at once familiar but with a tinge of exotic that elevates it into Best of Vegas territory. Likewise, the elote had a brush of secret sauce beneath the signature powdered cheese and tajin seasoning that had me ravenous -attacking each kernel in spite of the fresh-from-the-grill heat that made it hard to hold and spin as my teeth mowed through row after row of corn on the cob. So the entrée and sides were homeruns. I had never heard of Taffy Grapes before, but I am a lifetime fan now. As my little league coach might have said in a bygone era, they are "de-goddamn-licious," and it took incredible self-control to not devour them all immediately. I don't know if they carefully sourced these grapes or just got lucky, but they were a perfect delivery service for the strawberry shortcake frosting that coats the top of each. It's simple and yet ostentatious; sweet but not overpowering. Game changer, these. I have a feeling that the next time I'm here the wait will be a lot longer. I highly endorse placing your order in person so that Deja can give you her suggestions if you are so inclined, but as the word spreads about Taste Budz, you may have to order online, pick-up, and fight the temptation to eat it all in the car. Once you know what awaits, be sure not to guarantee anyone at home that their food will make it home ungrazed...

If underwhelming was a destination this is the place. I ordered a "popular" menu item jerk chicken, yams, and Mac no cheese which totaled $24. The jerk chicken was diced chicken breast (no option for dark meat" and overly seasoned with enough salt to melt a glacier. The yams were "ok" and the Mac n cheese had a pungent flavor that I can't describe, I'd recommend passing. Overall the place has potential, but I can't return in good faith and expect a different outcome.

Service was okay. The food was cooked correctly but there was no seasoning or spice. I was scammed out of $50 for prison level food.

We saw Keith Lee's review and decided to try this restaurant on our last night in town. The location was underwhelming but that's never stopped me before. The menu was overwhelming...I just wanted to pick right. So, I kept it simple: Jerk chicken, rice, sweet potatoes, cornbread and macaroni and cheese. The chicken was well seasoned and delicious. The rest of the food was good...not special, but good. I cleaned my plate. I also tried the banana pudding which was special...pretty good. So, two in my party ordered chicken and our meals were served pretty quickly. The three others ordered seafood plates and it took an hour. In fact, there was a crowd of people who said they had waited an hour. Prices were high for a neighborhood joint versus restaurants on the strip where you expect it.

I decided to go to Taste Budz on a Saturday evening around 7:00 pm. The restaurant seems to get good business, and I have seen reels that feature their delicious-looking food and huge portions, so I had to try them for myself. I called to confirm that they had oxtails left, and they did. In hindsight, this was my first mistake because I should have placed a phone order for pickup. The restaurant inside had a live DJ who jammed and played excellent selections of hip-hop and R&B. The music was loud and made it difficult to hear people's names called to pick up their orders. They had an area to take pictures in front of a photo booth with the restaurant name written all over it and tables everywhere for dining. The restaurant space is ample, and it might have been a department store space previously. I ordered an oxtail place with macaroni and cheese and yams for my two sides, and rice came with it. The lady who took my order gave me four options for oxtails, which were traditional, cajun, barbeque, and fried ( I may not have the exact preparation names). I ordered the conventional oxtails, and the cost came out to 38.00! I waited over an hour to get my plate! A lady sitting at a table with me shared that she also stayed over an hour, and all she ordered were noodles. The ordering end fulfillment process was disorganized, and the blaring music did not help. If you want to try them out, please call in your order! The best thing I can say about the oxtails is that they were tender; the meat fell off the bone, and whatever the cook did, they should continue. Unfortunately, the meal tasted basic. There was nothing special about the oxtails, macaroni and cheese, and yams, and the small portion did not warrant the expensive 38.00 I paid. If you want to have some well-seasoned and delicious oxtails, go to House of Dutch Pot. Taste Budz is overhyped and overpriced. Lack of knowledge, social media, and possibly the vibe must fuel the restaurant's success because it's not the food--or at least, not the oxtails. People are unaware that there are far tastier eating options in Las Vegas. DB's Cajun is another restaurant I highly recommend for people who love Soul Food!
