I had the misconception that this was a steakhouse so we tried it. It was a typical bar/restaurant with a typical bar motif, crowded, but, typical as bar and grills go. We had a little bit of a wait just to get our name on the list but the lady who took my name down was very friendly and we didn't have that long to wait to get seated. Our server was really nice but our drinks took a while to get to the table which didn't come until after our order was taken which also took a while. But I think it's because there weren't that many servers. The same lady who took my name down at the front was also bussing tables. And I think there were only two servers for the entire place. Anyway, our food was a let down. We ordered the buffalo wings, hubby got a burger which was a huge portion and I got their "Jose Pasta". The wings came out the same time our entrees came out and were already cold. In addition, they seem to have a couple of wings that are larger than the rest. The rest looked like they were the wings of midget chickens, not like the size of wings you find in other bars. The burger that hubby had was a decent size at least. As for my pasta, I really tried to like it but it just didn't taste right. The lemon cream sauce was more like Alfredo, and unfortunately the red and green peppers they added just added more to the conflicting taste. If they tried to drum up a taste twist, that wasn't it. The taste of the peppers just negated the sauce. Maybe we just came on an off day and maybe because it was already after the dinner rush (8PM). I'm not really sure if I want to go back again considering there are other 'bar and grill's to try out.

I have been at Bighorn Tavern a few times to meet friends for dinner and a drink. The atmosphere is woodsy, fun and sporty. The service is friendly, professional and proficient. Taco Tuesday offers two good-sized tacos , choice of steak, chicken, fish or carne asada. And a beer all for $12.00. Great deal! The menus is varied.

Bighorn Tavern is a fantastic watering hole. If you want to belly up to the bar and order a drink, you can do that. If you want to have a great American meal, you can do that as well. I appreciate the mellow ambience and the casual vibe of the tavern. It has just enough style, but is not stuffy. You can come here and just relax.I had an old-fashioned made with Frey Ranch rye. It was well balanced, and not exceptionally sweet. There is a good selection of whiskeys and a few tequilas to choose from for any cocktail you may desire.

We had dinner at the Bighorn Tavern--the Wednesday special fish and chips and the Cobb salad (the latter was a pleasant surprise for a pub, with egg, bacon, avocado, pickled onion, beets, and chicken). On another day, we had lunch. The variety of burgers is very good with hefty burgers, and the buns remained intact without falling apart: no mean feat for a fat burger and all the toppings. Huge onion rings are dipped in tempura batter. Nice high, airy ceiling and big windows. However, on each trip, the kitchen has been slow. Don't go if you have only an hour for lunch.

This place is a solid pub in Reno. Great food and food options along with your choice of beverage and great atmosphere. The steak sandwich is great and the salad paired with it makes the dish really good. The fries are legit too. This is a very good spot for a night out

Looking thru a local magazine I had to try this place. It was very tasty. ! Didn't disappoint! They also had bourbon my husband liked. A plus for him. I would like to try their other location also. It like like the ambiance is a little different. Overall, it's a place to try and enjoy !!

My first visit to Big Horn tavern and we went to the Lakeside location. The place was packed at 6:00 p.m. but we enjoyed a drink at the bar and were seated within a half hour or less. The drinks were strong and good. My partner was able to find a beer he hadn't had since he was in Seattle so he was very happy, Moose Drool. We ordered the al pastor tacos, three tacos piled high and were very good. We also had the loaded fries which are great. You can add a protein if you choose but we had the regular fries. Others in our party had chicken tenders and the nachos which really looked delicious. I'm glad to have found this place and we will be going back. They have a happy hour where you can get three appetizers for $15 which is really a good price. It's a very nice, clean and well decorated establishment.

What a great place to sit with friends and hangout. Good happy hour selection. Service was wonderful and very friendly. Easy to get to with plenty of parking. My only qualm was the timing of bringing food out. Half the table was served 15 minutes later.
