Update*Pains me to be updating my review this way. This was easily my favorite spot in Reno. I’d come once a week at least just for the lemon pepper wings because they were THAT good. Every time I took a friend there they would agree that they were the best wings ever. Unfortunately, when my best friend was in town I took him here to try the wings and to my surprise, not only were the wings completely different in quality and type, but there was no lemon pepper and my wings were completely black/burnt and inedible. They have also changed their fries. Everyone there knew I was a regular, so I was very shocked to see that no one informed me that the wings had changed or said anything when my plate that is usually licked clean, was full of uneaten and burnt wings. I ordered take out the following week to see if it was just a fluke, but unfortunately, this is the direction they have decided to go. I won’t be back as i was coming here for one reason and that was the fantastic lemon pepper wings which they are no longer serving. Truly a disappointing development.Might be my new favorite spot in town. Great service, even better food. I got the ribeye tacos which were very quality and delicious. The lemon pepper wings were the best I’ve ever had by far. I had to go back a few days later to relive it, and again the service was stellar. Can’t wait to explore more of the menu.

Fabulous meal--some of the best ceviche I've had outside of Mexico and Peru. And the tostadas were excellent as well. Drinks, dessert, and service all deserve high marks. Outstanding restaurant. People in Reno are fortunate.

I can't count the number of times La Condesa has been recommended to me or showed up on Top restaurant lists and I was excited to finally try it out. Though my experience fell considerably short by all accounts. The lamb bao for an appetizer was the highlight of the meal and it was ok, nothing particularly notable aside from the unique combination itself. My hot honey chicken sandwich lacked both hot and flavor and was accompanied by some flimsy fries. The margarita was priced as though it came with tequila but by taste and lack of any kind of buzz makes me question. The room has a really neat decor though the music was obnoxiously loud, so much so conversation across the table wasn't possible at all. The lack of conversation hit doubly hard since the meal took over 3hrs because every interaction had a huge time gap where a refill would be a 30min journey and an hour to get a dessert and check. It wasn't particularly busy at the time and the number of servers and bartenders appeared adequate so I can't make excuses there. This was an substantial disappointment given the hype but I'm not adding this spot to my short list of spots to hit while out.

The basic purpose of a restaurant is to offer good food to hungry folks with a smile in a pleasant &clean environment. My 1st & last experience at this place was an EPIC fail. After circling the block several times looking for parking ( found one 2 blocks away) we arrived hungry & excited to try a new place,10min early for Sat 6pm resv, we were seated right near the entrance & served water. Checked out the menu and after 10min had decided what food to order(no drink order was EVER offered) went to use the lady's room to find the cheap toilet seat completely broken and basically just sitting on top, and was forced to "hover pee" how very classy!! Returned to our table and noticed a Nickle Back video playing on the monitors and had a laugh at their sad music choice. The place was only half full of patrons who most seemed to have finished their meals, a busy busser and several servers standing around, except for a pink haired one who passed right by our table multiple times doing her best to not make eye contact and COMPLETELY IGNORE us. We thought, be patient, she's busy and will eventually acknowledge us but no...in fact NO ONE ever did. We attempted to get anyone's attention as we watched new patrons get seated. I'm not sure how much time went by, but a couple near us had just been served their meals as we were seated had finished eating and were leaving. We then watched in disbelief as 2 new groups were seated and shortly after a sever came to take their drink/food orders. There comes a point when you realize you've been fooled into thinking a place is worth the hype.As we got up to leave,I remarked to the hostesses that I guess we were just ghosts and would spirit ourselves out. The stupid look on their faces did made me laugh tho.Finding another place on a Saturday night could have been challenging but we already knew the best taco place in town, MEXCAL, could accommodate us with AMAZING FOOD, reasonable prices and EXCELLENT FRIENDLY SERVICE! And they did just that.

This place is absolutely fantastic. If you read no further just know the rest of this is bragging about them! They've been around for a bit and unfortunately for myself just been a little off my radar tucked into the Wells corridor. But I'll say I'm glad I finally popped in to try them out because they are now waaaaaay on my radar! I had a plan when I heard about them for their taco Tuesday special. I figured that would be a good little test fire of what they've got going on here. Alas, I'd see them in passing or a mention on media after I'd already eaten. Courtesy of them being heavily bragged about (for good reason!) making the Yelp top 100 for 2023; I had them finally dialed in and let me tell you it did not disappoint! One of the only downsides is parking is a little weird in that area but that's not their fault. Tuesday night I stopped in was greeted and sat quickly and it was a tad busy but service went very quickly. I opted for a bar spot as a solo endeavor. Bartender was prompt and had great service. I enjoyed the bar being able to watch all the dishes on the pass and watching the chef add the finishing touches. I ordered the fish taco special, I'm bringing some friends next time to get a spread! They have exotic mushroom tacos which I'm very intrigued about. The tacos were immaculate. They were fresh, light, and had a nice little crispiness that worked perfectly with their toppings. I also ordered the potato taquitos, which were also fabulous. It's clear they like to make a feast for the eyes here as well. The taquitos almost looked too good to eat. Pro tip: let them hang out for a bit because the potatoes get a little toasty and need some time to cool. (I won't tell you how I know, haha.) My next venture was to try their Paella special on Thursday. I learned about Paella a handful of years ago through a local chef at a Yelp event. And I've been seeking a place to get it since then. La Condesa did not disappoint. To be fair paella is a hard dish to render in a mass setting. There isn't a proper socaratt that a connoisseur might be looking for buuut it's flavorful with a quick prep at it and it was highly enjoyable. I will 1000% be back to try the rest of the menu and also have them on deck for taco Tuesdays in the future.

The food was phenominal, the service was top notch...only reason for three stars was because it was crazy expensive. Two of us for lunch, 1 entree each, no drinks or appetizers (though we did split one dessert) and it was $77 before tip...wish I could afford to eat there more often, but that's pretty crazy...maybe it's just me but I wouldn't recommend (or, there would be a strong disclaimer) and probably won't be back outside of a special occasion.

It was our first time to La Condesa Eatery and it was amazing! I had read about it in the Reno Gazette and then on Yelp. The food, service and atmosphere were a 10! Erika our server was extremely helpful in assisting with some menu choices. We had the gnocci, ribeye tacos and the porkbelly steam buns and they were fabulous. I love to dine at local run family business. Make sure to book ahead as this is their second year as top 100 restaurants in the U.S. and the restaurant is very busy. I will return again and again....

It was a treat to be able to sit down here at La Condesa again to enjoy a Valentine's Day meal with my wife. We went a little early in the afternoon, just before 4 o'clock. The place was quiet and chill at the time, and the mood was almost calm and serene. By 4:30/5 the place had gotten busy! Ale waited on us and took great care, us throughout our visit. Fritzie and I weren't going in for a lot as we already planned to keep things simple this Valentine's. She wanted the Thai salad, I wanted the Shrimp Mac and Cheese and neither of us would be disappointed. The freshness of the salad with the kale, mango, carrots and cabbage was amazing! I really enjoyed the flavor of the Shrimp Mac! It was creamy and delicious. We topped it off by having their Rib Eye Tacos and they were great. The Rib eye was tender and flavorful! It was a beautiful touch that before the end of our visit they handed the ladies in the restaurant a rose, very sweet of them of course considering the occasion. All in all, a great visit on what was already a wonderful lasting impression left by the waitresses and staff of La Condesa and I hope to continue to pick my way through the menu until I eventually have everything. This is a great spot to eat at!

Oh my, I am in love with La Condesa The ambience struck me as we walked through the courtyard to the front door. Once we walked through the door the contemporary art work, the big screens and the stacked triple screen tv's playing music videos struck me. The cool hip vibe of La Condesa is stellar. It's Tuesday and the restaurant is packed, good thing we knew to make reservations. They have a solid selection of specialty cocktails, bottle & tap beer and wine by the glass and bottle. The four of us ordered Tiger Shrimp Arepa, Fish tacos, Shrimp Tacos and The Bee Sting chicken sandwich. Each was throughly enjoyed and our plates were wiped clean. I'm not just enamored with the restaurants ambiance, their eclectic menu is amazing. I'm definitely going to enjoy exploring it. Be sure to follow the website link on Yelp and peruse the menu before visiting, there is so much variety to choose from. I wish I would have noted the waitress's name she was very sweet and we felt well taken care of. Note, the restaurant is a bit tricky to find in the dark of night and we passed it even though GPS noted we arrived. It's actually adjacent to the traffic circle. Very few cars fit into the courtyard yard parking so you more than likely will have to park on the streets.

The Service great, our server was very friendly and the food and drinks were served within reasonable times even though they were busy. My beef is with the drinks and food. The drinks were some of the most sugary cocktails I've ever had. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of the two cocktails we ordered, but I wouldn't go back for drinks again. We had some potato taquitos to start with and they were decent. However, the burger I ordered was super salty and so was the rice dish we ordered. The music and decor of the place was okay, nothing to rave about though. I hope they fix their food and drink menu. Maybe I'll give them another shot in six months.
