The La Vecchia in Reno has great food and is in a quiet location. The food and service were very very good. Lot of food at a reasonable price. I actually had Halibut and it was excellent. It was fresh and very well prepared. The restaurant is less then 10 minutes away from the downtown area. Well worth going to!

I really expected good things when we went to this restaurant but from the get go, it was short of that. We were seated in a hot- hot area and when we asked to move they said the table next to us was reserved. No one showed up to the table for the rest of the night. When we were served our appetizers, we had not taken a bite yet and we were already asked what we would like for dinner. We told the waiter we were not ready and he did not like that. We were then ignored for half an hour until we finally flagged down someone to grab his attention to take our order. We then had to wait for our food which took longer than expected. I ordered the gnocchi with chicken. It was the most underwhelming dish I have ever eaten. Olive Garden does better. It had no flavor and overall was dry. Another thing I noted was that we were celebrating my in laws 20 year wedding anniversary. We told the wait staff this and all we got in return was "Congrats." After the nice remarks, the fact was ignored and I expected that maybe they would have gotten a little more recognition.

If you are a foodie, Reno is one of the worst places you can try to find a decent restaurant. La Vecchia is no exception to this sad state of affairs.PROS:Reasonably nice atmosphere with viewsReasonably good serviceFresh sourdough bread is goodWine list is decentCONS:The food is edible, but not good and certainly not authentic ItalianThe price is excessive given the low quality of the foodWe had the chicken parmesan was awful at $21.50 a plate. We asked for the crispy salmon to be cooked medium and it came out raw. The salmon piece was tiny - maybe 3 or 4 inches long. The Veal Emeliana was ok but not great. The spinach side dish was decent.Unless you are just going for the atmosphere, save a ton of money and eat out at Olive Garden if you want low quality, fake Italian food.

We were seated at a table that was not properly distanced for the pandemic. We were less than 3 feet from the adjacent table. Some of the employees were not wearing masks. They boys' risotto special was a delicious hit. Pasta cooked property but they forgot the clam sauce.

Delicious authentic Italian cuisine - excellent pizza and the best spaghetti carbonara we've ever had. Lively restaurant and great view of downtown Reno. Service is always spot on.

Food was barely average, but nice atmosphere and beautiful views of the city slightly made up for a boring meal. The bread was delicious, but tomato and meat sauces were bland and blah. The food issues could’ve been overlooked but the service was so slow and the entrees took so long that I almost wished we left after appetizers. We might try appetizers and wine only on the patio but definitely not dinner.

Food and service were excellent, far superior to what one would expect from a neighborhood strip mall restaurant. Unfortunately, the outdoor seating area is starkly adjacent to parked cars and all the obnoxious noises they make. Perhaps the proprietors could add greenery to soften the area and buffer noises. We will come back for the delicious gnocchi and ravioli, and the excellent pacing of our 4-course meal.

It was my fiancé and I's first time at La Vecchia and the experience was amazing! Delicious food and amazing customer service. Definitely went above and beyond! The seafood linguine is a must, very delicious.

Lovely restaurant with very attentive staff. My husband ordered the cheese plate and I had the spinach/pear salad for appetizers (both very good). For dinner I went with the spaghetti carbonara (it was done just right - the egg and cream melded together. It should not be alfredo sauce and it should not be scrambled eggs on the pasta - just sayin'). My husband had the meat ravioli (did not care for the meat sauce on it). I also tried a cocktail specialty, the Tuscan Sunset, and it was quite good.
