If you live in the area and don't know about Laughing Cat, you are truly missing out! These coffees are by FAR the best available in town. Also, having tried the really expensive coffees, I can tell you Laughing C.A.T.'s are right up there with them, BUT for a reasonable price. Mark is a special proprietor and will help you figure out which coffees you would like best. He explained to me why his coffees are better, because I was so curious about it. I'm glad we recently moved to Reno for a lot of reasons, but Laughing Cat is one of them!

In my opinion, Mark's coffee bean offerings are the best in the world. I was introduced to Laughing Cat by a friend while living in Reno, and would purchase exclusively LC. Since, I have lived in Boston and El Paso and I still purchase LC coffee via phone order. I have traveled the world, and purchased coffee from the fanciest most expensive roasters and am yet to find anything comparable, for my palette. It's not for everyone; I've shared with family and friends and have had mixed reviews - his beans are on the darker side and he doesn't try to extract any fancy fruity flavors like most the hipster roasters do. But the roaster, methods, and tactics he uses to roast (he will explain if you ask) separate his offerings for those who enjoy the strong, old world coffee flavor. Also, if you visit the store, discuss with him how to find the optimum flavor of a coffee for your palette based on the time between when the bean was roasted, and when you brew... He will explain the science behind the nitrogen release, and how the flavor profile changes over time... I thought it was nonsense, but I now aim to brew my coffee in the 2-4 week range from roast, and try to order accordingly.

Stopped in while waiting for my car to get window tinting done. And the owner was really friendly and very helpful. I already brewed my first cup of this coffee and it's absolutely delicious. Definitely blows grocery store coffee out of the water. I'll be back. And he grinds up the beans for you as well!

My husband and I are very much into coffee. We have a very expensive home espresso machine and grinder set up in our kitchen and went to see what this place was all about. We currently buy coffee and get it shipped monthly from Oregon. Since this place had good reviews we thought we'd check it out and maybe convert to a local place. When went went the door was locked even though it was opening hours. As we walked to the car a guy shouted, " what you don't have a phone." We responded with, "well yeah but we were just coming by to check your place out and see what you had." He then said, "there isn't anything to look at. It's just coffee in containers." Why yes sir that's what we expected... you're a coffee roaster... that is what we were thinking at that point. Since the guy seemed irritated that a customer might be interested in his coffee we just left and won't ever come back. How about next time you invite the customers in to go over what you have to offer instead of making them feel stupid for trying to spend their money at your business. Their loss. There are few people who are as knowledgeable and into coffee as we are. We will gladly keep our business where it is.

I love the coffee and it is the freshest roasted coffee in town. The owner is a coffee and tea gourmand who has spent many years honing his craft and it shows in every cup I have had. Also no cat! 5 stars.

Great on site roasted coffee. I highly recommend the Highlander Grogg which is especially delicious. Really enjoy the wide selection of teas to keep things interesting. Ask the proprietor about each item in his inventory - he has an extensive and extremely compelling recommendation for each item he sells. I had to ask him to stop telling me about different teas before I broke my bank.

As I travel I'm always looking for the best coffee roaster in town. Mark wins my Reno search. The medium roast Guatemalan beans I tried were roasted to perfection. Great customer service and easy parking right at the door.

I’ve been coming here for years. It’s by far the best coffee I have ever had. I moved up north about 6 years ago and no coffee has compared. I enjoy the online option so I can continue to enjoy my morning brew. I’ll forever buy my coffee here as long as they keep selling it.
