The best sushi I have ever had. Clay and John are masters at their craft. So friendly and welcoming. Will be back whenever I'm in town, this is the only place I want to eat fish in Reno ever again.

They need to explain what it means All you can eat means it sounds like a SCAM at the end.

We love this place! I am not a sushi eater so their Bento box is perfect for me. My husband is a sushi eater and loves every roll he tries. Their house salad and cucumber salad are great too. We decided to buy sushi for a party. I brought in acrylic trays for them to arrange the sushi and they did a fantastic job.

My wife recently threw me a retirement party with a Sake and Sushi theme. The food was catered by Sakana. We ordered a couple dozen items from their menu and had it arranged on several serving platters. Sakana did an amazing job! We coordinated it through Clay, the manager. He was very helpful but also super diligent on the quality of the food and not allowing anything to detract from that. Plus, everything was ready on time. All of the party attendees loved the food! So much so that even though we ordered extra, it was completely gone by the end of the party. That says a lot!

Great sushi, awesome service!!The rolls aren't baby rolls, so be ready to eat. AYCE is always my go to because why not!?The restaurant is cozy and in a great location to take a little stroll around the town square before hitting the road after a great meal. If you have the opportunity to sit at the bar and enjoy Josh's company while he whips up an awesome roll - take it!! Always looking forward to my meals here.

This was the first time checking out Sakana for my wife and I. We went in on a weeknight for dinner and did All You Can Eat. The service was quick in the beginning with seating and taking our drink orders, but that seemed to taper off as the night went on. There was a point where we tried getting the attention of a waitress for about 15 minutes to get another AYCE order slip. The fish itself was fresh and tasted great; the only problem I had was the amount of rice served with the nigiri. If the rice was halved with the same amount of fish, it would be similar to other places like Sushi Rose and Tokyo Sushi regarding proportions. The overall vibe of the restaurant was nice, not too loud or quiet, and they had some football playing on screens around the room. Overall, not great or terrible, I just feel like there's better sushi options in Reno for the price.

It used to be decent place to have sushi, but it went down so far in quality that I will never return…

I tried Sakana again, this time for dinner and my experience was much better. I stayed away from soy wrap and instead ordered the sashimi which consists of tuna, salmon and yellowtail. All very fresh and tasty. They give generous portions of wasabi and ginger. I also enjoyed the house salad and put the small portion of spicy tuna from my sashimi platter on top and it was delicious! They also have ice cream which is a nice end to a perfect dinner. I will be back to support this Somersett business!

Fodd ill prepared, service in a restaurant that had only me and my partner there was non existence . It is over priced at 32 each and all dishes were more rice then fish. What a shame for a high end

7/9/2023It's been a while and wanted to do an updated review.Best deal before 3 for the lunch price AYCE..Downside it costs an additional $8.99 for hamachi kama-(other go to sushi includes in price)..~ you cannot order or have extra order sheets until you finish all the sushi..Plus-new side dishes and I loved the okonomiyaki French fries..Miso soup was hot and had lots of tofu..Probably won't do AYCE again.. maybe the bento boxes..$67 total..

A little noisy but excellent food, very fresh tasting. And very reasonably priced. A little gem in NW Reno. Will definitely go again. Sushi is perfect size for eating . Bento boxes had an amazing dressing on the salad. Aloha rolls were imaginative though a little light on mango. Beachball appetizer was excellent. Pot stickers were tasty and served hot. Overall, very good. Lovely inexpensive surprise.

This has become our favorite sushi place to go to. Especially when friends or family visit. They have amazing food, and great owners/staff. We absolutely love the all you can eat! And even my smallish children love their food!
