We tried their breakfast. Food prices decent, but nothing worthy to write home about it. We might give their dinner a try, as we asked about their dinner menu. I really hope that was their lunch menu, as it was less stellar. My friend boast their dinner is better.

It was great bar @ one time! The owners daughter is not nice! it's totally a f-up place now! .music sucks!! it is basically a dive bar which I like but miss the old bartenders. Again, the daughter I think her name is Sloan...big mistake. my women friends do not want to go in there because of her petty crap!

Great food, friendly service, but be prepared to wait just a bit. They are probably short handed like every other restaurant around the country! Don't count this against the business. With the wait.

Great outdoor patio for lunch. The service was quick and so was the food. Loved the atmosphere. Nice little diner for a quick bite. I had the veggie burger with bacon and a side salad. It was perfection. No limp bacon here.

Warm hearts and cold libations greeted me as I enjoyed this local gem! A solid bourbon selection led me down the path of an exquisite old fashioned. Sloan, the owner/bartender was fun with a copious knowledge of Reno history as she let me know some local favorites!

I hadn't been to Simon's in awhile and our good friend, Frank O suggested we join him as his guest for lunch. We ordered two spinach salads, one of their specialty salads and a long-time favorite of mine. Once it arrived, it didn't disappoint. A bit smaller but COVID has done that to many restaurants. Hubby-Keith ordered a tuna melt and it arrived quickly, so much so, he was done before our salads arrived. Some miscommunication in the kitchen our bartender-server suggested without apology. Our bread wasn't included, apparently most of her customers don't want bread and although included, one has to ask because of her other customer practices. We also pre ordered a Togo order and we're made to wait again, being told she waited until we were finished, a practice not welcomed my book without communication. Food receives 5 stars, service scale-2. Our consummate host tipped her according to our collective total, not service for today. I know he's hoping "t.I.p""." Will be understood as 'to insure prompt' service for his next visit! Chock it up to a bad day, going to try. Again, good food preparation!

If there was a textbook definition of a local's neighborhood bar, this would be it. Note that most of the neighborhood around it is retired folks, so there's your crowd. But it's a homey little place, with very good food. They have a big covered patio that's one of the best in town in the warmer weather. Inside there is a bar to the right and restaurant on the left separated by a wall. The bar is cozy and comfortable, with decades of different signage, contests, and memorabilia on the wall. And golf. Because of the patronage lots of golf on TV's scattered around. A few tables in the bar area, but mostly seats at the bar. In the dining room there are booths and tables. Some of the service clubs have meetings there where they push a bunch of tables together at the lunch hour. We don't sit in the restaurant much, preferring tables at the bar. The food is fantastic though. Everything I've tried there has been 5-star. They have brunch specials on the weekends, and prime rib night (Friday). As others have noted their hours vary greatly, and the service is spotty. The day bartender is very good; polite and helpful. Most of the bartenders wear a mask but not all. Definitely a place to have a nice lunch, a few cocktails, dinner, or just gamble, listen to the regular's BS, and watch a game (or golf!).

Haven't been to Simon's Cafe & Lounge for several years but glad to see that nothing has changed since the last time I was there. I love the decor because it takes you back to a time when cozy family dining was what most restaurants looked like. The menu is varied and full of selections that I'd say will fit most patrons taste. Portions are (in my opinion) the right size and when I finished my dinner I was more than satisfied. Ingredients are fresh and cooked just right. Service is good too. Simon's bar scene is more lively than the dining room where the "regulars" gather. Gaming is available to those who wish at the bar and there is an ATM available in case one needs it although there is a BofA ATM just outside the door too. The patio is large with plenty of tables and distance measures are followed as well as masks and heightened cleaning is visible. A neighborhood gem for sure!
