I am so impressed with this place and on so many levels! The food is excellent: interesting spins on dishes we often see in menus, like pork belly—here they make it with apples, sweet glaze and celery root. Insanely delicious! Butternut squash soup Thai style had so many interesting levels of flavor to it and so satisfying after a day on a mountain. Shishito peppers with cashews—yes, please! And the steak was prepared to perfection. Vegetables were crispy and not overcooked with tons of flavor.Last, but not least, Tom made this entire visit very special. We felt welcomed right away, he was very attentive and just wonderful to chat with, so major shoutout to Tom! He saw that we just got back from the mountain and made sure dishes were served promptly, but also not too fast, so we could enjoy our food without having an overcrowded table. Truly a master of his craft. Thank you, Tom!

I can't say enough good things about Smith and River!Every single time we go in, the staff is incredibly friendly & helpful. The food is amazing, craft cocktails are delicious, and the ambiance is perfect!If you can sit outside in the summer, take advantage! It is right on the river and so nice out there.My husband and I had a very small wedding with family only. We booked their back room for dinner after the ceremony we love it so much <3

My sisters and I had a great dinner last night. Matthew, our server, was friendly, funny, and attentive. Everything was delicious and well cooked, wine pairings were perfect. Will definitely be going back.

The servers and the food was great, however you can feel the prejudice and racism in a young lady upfront who is responsible for seating, she gave us the worst seating in the back at first in a a small stool like table for 4, then upon complaining to the manager she moves us next to bathroom with a very rude hand sign and aggressive tone we can tell she did this on purpose and we are not trying to cause too much trouble and keep arguing as it was special occasion. We can see the brunette young lady around 5ft 5in walking back and forth from the bathroom sucking on her vape every 10 mins, ruined my vibe and atmosphere. However otherwise this place was incredible.

Smith and River was a very pleasant surprise. The information I found online did not do this place justice. I took my date here and expected a very simple place with a somewhat noisy atmosphere. I was proven wrong and in the most wonderful of ways. To start: Matthew, our server, was an amazing person to have been able to interact with. He was hilarious, he was passionate, he knew what he was talking about in every conversation, and was overall a treat. Secondly, the food was amazing. Up until this night, I have never tried scallops. After inquiring about the catch of the day, I was pleasantly surprised and extremely satisfied with how delicious they were. Finally, the environment was amazing. It felt very private and personal with my date and I couldn't have enjoyed it more.Cheers to this place.
Service was excellent. Noise level was very high, which made conversation a bit challenging. Ordered the same entree as I had previously, Mary's Chicken, which was tasty and nicely presented, but about half the portion as I had experienced before. Regardless, we will return as it is our favorite pre-show restaurant.

Great food and service. Had the Beet Salad, Short Rib and Mushroom Cassoulet. Everything was fresh and had amazing flavor. Only ask is that some bread be served with the entrees. Our server was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Heartily recommend!
