Rip-off. The smallest proportions of Ethiopian food I've ever seen at some of the highest prices. Also, lost a star for the terrible service that I describe below.I walked in and ordered a combo of four things as takeaway. When it came out and I paid, I realized the woman had over-charged me AND forgotten the fourth item. She said this was a policy explained by the website, which I have never visited. She watched me order from a paper menu (so clearly I was not on the website), and she said nothing about the alleged policy until I came back to ask about the overcharge and the missing item. She refused to partially refund my money, or make me the fourth item. If she had told me like she should have, I would have ordered differently.Charging more than the menu states, and/or providing less than the menu states, with no warning or offer to reimburse sounds like fraud.I used to come here all the time before I moved. Sad to see how it's gone downhill. Will never return.

As an Ethiopian, the food tastes bad, and the owner is very rude. Additionally, the food is expensive. I wouldn't recommend this place to other Ethiopians who know the taste of authentic Ethiopian food, as it lacks many essential ingredients.

Very lovely authentic experience, we’ve enjoyed Zagol for several years. My grandson grew up eating here, always his choice for birthday dinner and now hes in the Peace Corps in South Africa. Ignore any negative comments—the sweet little lady is hostess/cook/cashier—if you find anything negative about this place, check your own behavior and expectation.

This was my first experience with Ethiopian food and it won't be my last. We ended up getting the Gebeta platter with a few different meat options. They were all incredible, with a decent spicy kick that was well rounded. Ended the meal with coffee that was delicious.Service was awesome. Shita was so accommodating for our baby and made us feel so welcome. She was attentive and her passion shows.Such a great experience. You won't be disappointed coming here!

Wanted to share some Ethiopian food with my partner and friends. Was a little disappointed at the menu (we are vegetarian and were hoping for a more typical share platter like you typically see). And surprised that extra injera was charged extra. Overall prices seemed reasonable. The food was pretty decent (fairly obviously warmed up) and well spiced, although the quantities were not great. The service was the most underwhelming aspect, with our hostess not being willing to split the bill onto two credit cards for some reason and generally treating us coldly. We will not return.

The server seemed very intolerant and short tempered overall. The customer service was very poor and seemed to be lacking in care. The food was relatively tasty, but not much variety and VERY expensive.Won’t be eating here again or recommending to others.

Had the Gored Gored, Bozena Shiro, and zilzil tibs. Fantastic. Not as spicy as I'd thought it would be but I am Latin so my tolerance is higher. Use discretion if you have a low heat tolerance.Places smells amazing, has great atmosphere, and very beautiful to look at.Wonderful staff. Very polite and explained things about the menu. Will come back.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options.
