Meals shared with family always seem to taste better. Family dinner here at Mariscos El Barco was no exception. We started with shrimp empanadas for the table. They were good, but they were way too greasy for my liking. Shrimp cocktails all around! They were a decent serving, but I was disappointed that they were bland. We used the juices from our shrimp entrées to flavor our shrimp cocktails. The shrimp entrée was the best! The sauce had the perfect amount of spice; the flavors were out of this world! My mouth is watering, reliving the flavors as I write this review. It had been several years since the last time I sat in this dining room, but I will always prefer this location over their Sparks location. We had a great server who was the perfect amount of attentive but not overbearing when he checked on us. We overdosed on mariscos, and I know I will be back for this shrimp entrée! If you're ever here, order the Langostinos entrée.

Wheelchair accessibility: They do have a couple of parking places close to the door there are no steps or side walk it's good even pavement! The front door is wide very wheelchair friendly!

This was our first time visiting this particular restaurant. I loved the structure of the building that is shaped like a ship taking after its restaurant name“El Barco” the ambiance and music is definitely nice. As soon as you walk in you are greeted immediately, that is the first thing they do. The food is prepared to the finest detail. When you sit down it feels like you are right next to the sea tasting what our fine ocean has to offer. We love the dishes and we love the service and atmosphere. We will definitely be coming back.

Went to Mariscosd on 1/24/24 for a late lunch in hopes of getting good seafood and mexican food. Very disappointed. Food: Did not have the Red Snapper that was on the menu (said they were out) so ordered the grilled salmon that was just "O.K." Wife had the mixed fahitas (shrimp/chicken/steak). Shimp was not too bad but chicken tastless. Steak was so tough we could not chew. Informed the waitress and she said "sorry". Service: Waitress was very nice, but did not offer to take anything off or adjust the bill for inedible steak. Wife ordered a diet coke and was charged $5.18. Thought that was high for this type of establishment. I had water. Both dinners were overpriced for what we were charged. Ambience: Inside restaurant extremely cold. Had to go back and get our coats. Looked up at the ceiling vents. Clogged with dust and dirt. Much grime around the cash register. Hope the kitchen was clean. Wonder when they had their last health inspection? Everytime the front door closed it made a very loud banging sound that made everyone jump. A simple adjustment would rectify. Needless to say we will never go back.
This place has amazing dishes and amazing drinks! I love the ceviche and aquachiles! The mussels are amazing too.

This was perhaps the most interesting meal I've had in Reno, and it beats the fancy places in downtown/midtown! Red Snapper is must try! Excellent service once I realized the food was being prepared fresh. The extra few minutes are worth lt!
