Very sad to report , Ivano passed away in December from a heart attack.

It's gonzo! We stopped by to check it out and what to our surprise, it was completely empty, the only thing left was the sign! (Unless it moved somewhere else)?

Ivano's is by far my favorite place to eat in south lake Tahoe and one of the best restaurants I've been to period. I've been looking forward to coming back here after some time away and I'm extremely saddened to hear the passing of Ivano. RIP Ivano :( I'm going to miss your restaurant, your cooking, and your company..

Good food and service. Very family ambiance. We got the lasagna and fettuccine al pescadore. The fettuccine al pescadore sauce was a little watery but overall good the clams, mussel, calamari and leaks were delicious and the highlight in the dish. The lasagne had great sauce and cheese. We got garlic bread for our appetizer and it was amazing and they even gave us another garlic bread on them, super nice! Our server was great, definitely recommend getting a reservation, we got one but still had to wait around 10 minutes. So definitely reserve ahead of time so you get a table saved.

Amazing food ! We were originally turned away by the waitress because we didn't have reservations. We didn't know we needed then then the chef caught up with us and invited us back in. He was very accommodating and down-to-Earth and such a charming older man. He was very kind towards us and my granddaughter and that meant so much to us. The waitress was very rude, even after we were seated but the chef more than made up for her lack of grace and hospitality. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. The food was by far the best Italian food we've ever had.

We had our annual Christmas party for our Employees Saturday night. Everything was wonderful! Ivano and staff gave us top notch service. You must try the antipasto platter! The Chicken Marsala is oh so delicious and the garlic bread is to die for. Ivano’s Mama makes the best Tiramisu! You simply must try Ivanos.

I was very clear when ordering last night that I am lactose intolerant, and I wanted my meal to be prepared without any dairy. Our waitress Bambi, asked me if I wanted ranch dressing on my salad after I told her that I was lactose intolerant which indicates that she didn't really understand that I was lactose intolerant. When the meal came, it looked like there was butter on top, I asked her about this and she went back to check and then assured me that the meal was dairy-free. Ivano himself even came out and assured me that there was no dairy in the meal. I should have trusted my intuition as they're definitely was dairy and I was sick because of it. Not to mention, we were waiting for our food for nearly an hour. I will not be going back to ivano's!

OMG Absolutely delicious. Service was excellent and rarely have I ever tasted food so very well made, prepared, and presented. My husband had the lasagna and said it was better than any he had since his Italian mother in law made it many years ago. I had the chicken marsala - outrageous! This restaurant is a true gem.

Loved this restaurant and its owner. Delicious food and beautiful paintings to gaze at...was like being in an art gallery. Ivano was friendly and warm-hearted and told us his mother and friend were the artists who painted those paintings. Despite being the only one working that night, he still spent time talking to us.

The most authentic Italian restaurant outside of Lovoirno Italy. Thanks. Paul and Maureen

I called ahead to find out if we needed reservations and it turns out we did.It is evident that Ivano's is having some staffing issues as it was just he and a brand new server in the dining room. The reservations are there to do crowd control. That being said the staffing is probably a little short there as well. We ordered our entrees and would have liked to have a choice between soup or salad, however they only come with salad. A choice between one or the other would be great. I ordered the spaghetti Carbonara. I had asked to get chicken with that, but that part of the order got lost on the way to the kitchen. The other half ordered the Lasagna. My carbonara was overpowered by an overly generous helping of Parmesan cheese. The aside from that the dish was tasty. I feel that it could have been better if the sauce itself had a little better cohesion there was a little bit of funniness to it.The lasagna was reported to be all right, however it looked like it had been heated in the microwave which rendered one corner of it to be incinerated. We ordered the garlic bread with dinner as well. It was loaded with onions, garlic and cheese. Very yummy. I am giving Ivano's the benefit of the industry having issues right now. It is the shoulder season in Tahoe so that could be part of the problem as well. The restaurant has good bones and a nice menu.

I was there with my wife & chef Camile. Because we knew the owner it may not be fair to make a review. But the food was perfectly cooked. The service was fabulous. And I can't wait to return.
