I don't think this place gets enough credit. I had an absolutely amazing Togo/takeout meal. The French dip. It was lovely. The host who took our orders was kind and friendly and the service was speedy.

Great fundraiser today with law enforcement servers and tips and donations going to special Olympics. The cheese burger and onion rings were fantastic. So many rings, I couldn't finish them so took them to a store owner friend. Great service!

We ordered jalapeños burger, garlic burger, and fish and chips. Food came in a timely manner and was delicious. Maybe the best hamburgers we ever had. The beef patty was really tasty.Fish and chips was great also. Prices were fair too.

This place isn't so bad. It seems to get a bad rap on here. I've eaten here for lunch 4 times. They are not as busy as some places on the weekends. I like that it's a smaller place and doesn't feel so over crowded. They do get backed up at times and I had to wait a bit, but it was okay. I had the Jalapeno - Ortega burger. They put on plenty of topings. They cooked it right. The bartender was friendly and attentive. I was happy. The quality was as good as other places that I have been in town.

I have gone here a few times to celebrate special occasions and it's been great every single time! Service was quick and attentive, but not overbearing. Also, food was delicious and so was the wine recommendation! I recommend going on a warm evening to get the beautiful sunset skies as a view.

Just stopped in for lunch for my wife and kids on a Saturday. Super friendly staff and pretty decent food. A little pricey but fair in comparison to surrounding restaurants/ bars. Has a great balcony with amazing view.

ordered Reuben sandwich corn beef tasty sauerkraut did not exist no thousand island dressing had puckles on it . hamburger was ordered way over cooked . garlic fries wow about 6 cloves of fresh garlic wasnt that good of a meal
We've given this restaurant 2 chances. The first time (last week) we walked in and no one even acknowledged us. After several minutes we left and had a great lunch down the street at The Palace. Today we tried again (since one of the shopkeepers had recommended it). It was 1:45, the doors were open and the "open" sign was displayed. As soon as we walked in, a staff person yelled from across the restaurant "we're not open". We turned to leave and he said "close the doors behind you". Have no opinion about the food since we haven't eaten there, and will never go there again. We live nearby (Dayton) and like to come to Virginia City once in a while for lunch. There are other great restaurants that provide friendly service in Virginia City. We will not try Joe's again.

Went in on a Wednesday afternoon at 1pm and sat down on a basically empty patio with maybe 10 tables max around the place occupied. My wife ordered a couple burgers from the very nice bartender, but was offput by the cook visibly furious throwing stuff around the kitchen and cussing. We proceeded to wait another 50 minutes while the tables around us got their food thinking ours was next (the table next to us ordered directly ahead of us in line). At this point our babies were restless and we had to go so I told the bartender our order needs to be to go. The cook then tells the bartender there are FOUR tickets ahead of us! We then were offered a refund which we took, but weren't offered anything to bring us back , like a gift card or voucher. When the cook was told about our cancelation he loudly said GOOD. Keep in mind he is posted up in the window, visible to everyone! I'm a long time restaurant manager and know that s*** happens all the time, but when you're in the weeds you don't act like he did, you hunker down and knock s*** out. Also, this is probably only the second review I've ever written, but it seems fitting seeing as how this is the second time giving Joes a shot and leaving empty-handed.
