Fantastic Indian cuisine. The vindaloo was as hot as it comes and the naan was perfect.

Nice little restaurant with a good variety menu. Food had some decent spice and good flavor. Service was quick and overall we had a good experience.

Wow. Before Covid, this restaurant was one of my favorites. We went quite often. We went today and it was practically empty and the food was way below par. I’m vegetarian and my husband adores chicken tikka masala. There was no tikka and what they had was very tasteless, watered down, and sad. I now have to find another Indian food place that tastes like the old spicy mint.

I thought this restaurant changed hands and since I did not care for the quality of the previous establishment I thought I’d give it a chance. The menu had a different name on it in the name of the actual restaurant. Recycling? The food quality was quite amateur. It tasted like a box of premixed, Indian spices and there way too much of it. This didn’t make the food spicy just poorly seasoned. There was almost zero service. Noone said hello, goodbye or thank you. I will not return, and I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes Indian food, as there are many other great restaurants in the area.

I don't know if they have new staff from just last week or a different crew on Sundays than Saturdays, but our experience today wasn't great. The lady on the phone was rude, and we didn't get half our order at pickup which we didn't notice until we got home. We called and let them know that we were coming back, and she was rude again. The man at the counter hadn't been told there was even an issue and had to ask someone else what we were talking about. The onion pakoras were really thick and gummy in the center, like they were made by a completely different person from last week.

The signage on this restaurant is still the previous one (Spice Mint Albany). The restaurant is supposed to be under new management. When my wife and I got to the restaurant there was no one there. We started wondering if this restaurant would be any good. However there was a steady stream of takeout orders. That seems to be their primary business. We were promptly seated and the waitress was very attentive. However she had no clue about what was on the menu. When we asked her about their best vegetarian dish she said she did not know -- at least she was honest. When we asked her what vegetables were in navratan korma she had no clue. We order onion pakora that was recommended by others. It was a good choice. We also ordered chicken biriyani based on the waitress's recommendation. It was very spicy and greasy. We also ordered matar paneer which was very heavy on cream. All in all average fare. And it gave me a very bad heart burn the next day.

Good spicy food and good service. Reason for 4 stars - vegetable options are limited using frozen cut veggies from supermarket. They taste of freezer burn and not as good as non veg dishes. Chicken biryani was excellent.

I can't forget that Peshewari Naan and Bombay Aloo. Two awesome items with perfect balance of spice. They asked us the spice level we would prefer. This is something indian restaurants usually do not ask. Loved that part. Two other items were onion naan (was good) but the Mughlai chicken, something was off about it. It could be the balance of sweet or the salt was not right. I felt like I am eating a thik gravy. I believe the tea was over brewed and to balance it more milk was poured in. That's just an opinion as I know taste of tea is very subjective. Besides all of this the portion of one order was good for two. I think they are underrated by themselves. I would recommend them to change the whole seating arrangement. Also, update your restaurant name to Ahmed Restaurant. It was hard to find it.Spend $36 for two. (1. Mughlai Chicken came with choice of rice/Naan, Aloo Naan came with Rice/Naan)

Ordered desi chicken roast, chicken jali kabab and pulao for a small gathering. Food was very delicious. We asked chef not to add any nuts due to food allergies and the chicken roast was still very good. Thank you for being very patient and courteous with us.
