I from long island and there is no better soul food in the upstate capital district then here the yams corn bread mac and cheeses shrimp bbq chicken and turkey wings oh and cat fish is my favs oh and the staff is wonderful the owner is so great always smiling she has such a good soul the main reason why i come when i don't cook myself. This is my go to when im fasting or need a good home cook meal God bless all if u that put this food together and that goes the extra mile for your customers definitely 5 stars oh and did i mention its very clean they wear gloves and always have their hair covered and yes im a pickie person so they are great ??????

I purchased a meal from this restaurant on the concourse during an event for $12. The fried chicken meal consisted of 1 drumstick and 2 (very small) sides. No choice of chicken I would prefer breast piece.. should be at least 2 pieces and also this was soggy and cold. Mediocre at best and certainly overpriced. If it was good maybe the price would fly but it was cafeteria food unfortunately. Sadly it looks like they fell for the trap of overcharging state workers at the campus. I won't be visiting the restaurant.

We were dying for some Mac n cheese and we found this place on the internet and it had great reviews for the Mac n cheese so we went there. A block or so up from the Palace Theater, it's a little place with soul food and a super friendly staff. I'm family now! She said so! The mac & cheese is homemade and delicious. I loved it. I also got the sweet cornbread which is a nice big piece too! I need to go back and get the fried chicken soon !

I ordered food to try out very nasty the Mac and cheese was not Mac and cheese the fish was fried with no taste and rice and beans was watered down tasted like starch water.. I normally don’t talk about people food but this made me mad.. It tasted like somebody cooked this on their easy bake oven.. never

Bland Mac n cheese, greens weren’t cooked long enough, cornbread was jiffy like, potato salad wasn’t tasty, ribs were cooked in oven and they weren’t tasty either. I was very disappointed being it represents soul food. You can’t cook badly and wear the title food network star. She appeared on Chef Boot Camp S1 E4. I hate to give a bad review but I’m an honest person.
