Had dinner tonight, tacos were good, but the bartender didn't admit that he charged me more than I ordered. I asked to talk to the manager and he was supportive to the bartender while I showed him he was wrong in the bill. I lost 45 minutes to argue but they finally admitted they were lying. Shame

I had an amazing experience at ama cocina! The service was exceptional, earning a solid 5 stars for drinks, music, and presentation! The staff really went above and beyond to make the dining experience memorable. I'll definitely be back for more!Located in Downtown Albany, ama cocina offers a fresh and funky twist on modern Mexican street food. Their mission to encompass the three most important elements of life - food, laughter, and love - truly shines through in every aspect of the dining experience. From the moment you sit down, you'll notice the attention to detail, both in the ambiance and the food presentation. Eating with your hands and engaging with your neighbors creates a communal atmosphere reminiscent of the "table-talk" days, where bonds were formed over good food and conversation.Don't forget to relax and laugh while you're here - the staff at ama cocina will take care of the rest. It's evident that there's a lot of thought, fun, and love put into every dish served at ama. Welcome to their kitchen, where every meal is prepared with care and passion.

I had a great Valentine’s Day meal at Ama Cocina. It is one of the best Mexican restaurants in Albany in my opinion. I recommend getting the pitcher of margarita for the table. You can choose between a few different kinds, we decided to go with the strawberry. The pitcher came with free chips and salsa as well, which I think is a great idea. Between the two of us we both had four margaritas and had to get an Uber home but it was such a great time! Our waitress brought over a new glass with ice and sugar rims every time we went through a margarita. I was very impressed with the service and the attention to detail we received from the staff. The guacamole and queso was delicious and I would definitely get it again when I go back. The tacos were all good but I have to admit the barbacoa was my favorite one. It had a great flavor to it that I never had before. I can’t wait to go back. Thanks!Vegetarian options: Large selection if you don’t eat meatParking: Paid parking lot across the street. $4 for two hours. Also street parking is available if you want to try your luck.Kid-friendliness: Yes bring the kidsWheelchair accessibility: Beware there are steps

Ama cocina is my go to for a Friday night dinner. Their margarita flight is very delicious especially if you like more than just the normal lime margarita. Not to mention their queso fundido is to die for!!

Went there for a last minute Valentine's Day dinner. Our waiter was friendly and attentive and the food was great. The price wasn't bad either and I feel like we got our money's worth. Would definitely go back again.

Stopped by for a quick dinner and it was a great experience. We didn’t have reservations but they were able to accommodate us immediately. We had the street corn (absolutely amazing), empanadas with queso (also delicious), carne asada tacos (great flavor, steak cooked perfectly) and the chorizo burrito covered with salsa verde. Everything came out quick and was nothing short of tasty/flavorful. Ended the night with some hibiscus margaritas! I only wish the tacos had a second tortilla- it was so yummy but the taco ripped from the steak juices and sauce lol so delicious though. I’ll be back next time I’m in town.

First visit and had great experience. Excellent food… flank steak with chimichurri and cheese grits was awesome. Best fish tacos have had outside of Southern California. Good drinks. Super fast and attentive service. I think our server was Nancy… very professional and pleasant.

This place slaps harder than Will Smith at the 94th annual Academy Awards. Great quality and great pricing. The birria quesadilla and Weston burrito were incredible and the ceviche is likely the best you'll find around. Service was fast, drinks were strong and vibes were right. I'll be back every time I'm in town.

Wow. If you haven’t eaten here yet you’re missing out. The service was fast, ambiance on point and the food and drinks were *chef’s kiss*. Things you must try: cold brew martini, cantina fries, birria quesadilla and the Weston burrito! I’ll be going back over and over and over again!

This is the best place in Albany for the food of my people. I will say it is a little Americanized which is perfectly fine. So am I ha ha ha. I was here for dinner and the waiters the ambience the atmosphere the energy in the music was top-tier. I wish it turned into a club at night and that’s the only thing I would change differently but everything else was amazing. The drinks were very strong and delicious and it felt like a great energy for all ages.
