I had a hard time remembering how to find this little gem. They make the best cannolis in the Hudson Valley area. After my father, that is. They do stick to their hours and if they say they close at 7, by god they are locked & lights off. Just be aware. They have pre made dishes if that's your thing. They make sandwiches & all sorts of authentic Italian things. Being Italian myself, I go for the cannolis.

My family and I were looking for a place to stop on our way home from a family vacation in Maine, and about halfway through our drive this was the closest place to the thruway, not being fast food but something quick and easy to eat. We were a little concerned about how the food would be due to the area it's located in but decided to give it a go anyways. We took a little bit to order, mainly because I didn't know what I wanted because their selection of meats is HUGE, and the one guy working suggested an Italian meats sub, which was perfect because I usually order salami and capicola, but I wanted something with a little spice so he suggested the Hot Salami, and offered us to try it as well to see if we liked it. I ended up adding that to my sub, as well as provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, banana peppers, mayo & oil. It was all the perfect combination. They also sell kettle cooked chips in different & original flavors and sides to go with the subs such as antipasto salad, seafood salad, etc. I would also say the best part is EVERYTHING IS HOMEMADE!! When we got in our car we looked in the bag and we found a small amount of the hot salami wrapped up for us, a very nice surprise since we loved it. I would 100% recommended this place to stop by if you're in Albany.

I love old Italian delis and pork stores, so when staying for a few days in Albany, thought this place would be a perfect source of fresh mozzarella to accompany summer tomatoes. The mozz was okay, but lacked the milky fresh dairy flavor you get from the better latticerias. Bought a few other items, but while maybe this store welcomes its regulars, it was CLEARLY inhospitable to outsiders. There was no question we were not welcome there. I'll try elsewhere next time.

This was my first time at this small Deli tucked away right in the middle of Albany.They have a small area to get drinks and a handful of items for convenience. Extensive selection of fine cheeses.They have amazing subs, killer sandwiches, absolutely fantastic cannolis, prices arent bad either.I got a sandwich called the 42nd Street. It was like a Reuben but on the next level. I definitely recommend.
