Service was great. Ambiance was beautiful. Food was terrible. I've never been opposed to the idea that you get what you pay for. I'll pay any price for a great steak. This is not the place for that. Our table got three different high priced medium rare steaks and all of them were awful. We sent one back and it didn't come back any better. I never thought I'd prefer a steak from a chain but if it's between this place and a chain, I'm going to the chain. Buyer beware!

Very nice upscale cozy restaurant with lots of choices I got the special Chilean sea bass with risotto, lobster mac n cheese and creamy kale with paramsean cheese. The banana creme bruele was amazing also.

Decor and ambiance were great. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was cooked to perfection and flavorful. We had sparkling water and wine with our meal. Finished our dinner with dessert and coffee. Definitely will be a restaurant we’ll revisit in the future.

steak was really good. Asked for rare plus, not a lot of steakhouses know what that is. Crust is amazing because of they use the broiler. I prefer broiler over flame grilled for my crust. Upscale environment. Would skip the tuna tartar, it's poke. Calamari was ok

The ambiance was nothing but stunning. Felt like a place to enjoy a romantic dinner or a classy birthday. One of the best places open late on a Sunday. The staff were friendly, patient and professional. The food was really good. I had raw oysters for the first time and I'm so glad I picked here to experience them. They were so good we ordered them twice. I did not care for the caviar and I didn't even bother with the cocktail sauce. It was perfect with just the vinaigrette that it came with. The martini was strong and absolutely worth it if you enjoy vodka. To me the olives are the best part. The lamb chop was thick which I was pleasantly surprised about because most places give you smaller pieces. It was tender and well salted. The tuna tartar was pretty good. It was my least favorite out of everything but good nonetheless. The bread was soft and the butter was perfectly creamy and salted. It paired well with all the types that were on the platter. We were def one of the last people there and we still didn't feel rushed. I will def be going again real soon.

Looked awesome, but they were closing in 20min from when we arrived, and we got a cold feeling from the hostess when we asked if they were still serving food. I will try again and update my review, but my feelings towards closing time are always solid. If you want to leave earlier, then close earlier, don't rush people out the door. I was a bartender for 10 years, and my best customers and best tips were always the later crew. I worked with a lot of people who would always be in a rush to leave, made no sense to me when they can make a shift worth of tips in a few hours, wouldn't you rather stay instead of working another 5 hrs the next day to make the same?

We had a great dinner! This was our first time here, and we sat at the bar prior to dinner. Ralph the bartender greeted us with a smile and made us some amazing martinis!When seated, we were served by Neil and Alex. Our food was exceptional. (Sidenote: they have gluten free rolls if you ask) Zach recommended some wine and told us a bit about the winemaker. Overall it was a great experience.

Driving from Gloversville, NY to Albany, NY, we eagerly returned to Black and Blue Steak and Crab, reminiscing about our previous excellent experience. This time, however, on March 13th, our anticipation turned into disappointment.Despite being warmly greeted at the door, we were informed that only bar seating was available due to the dining area being fully occupied. Reluctantly, we settled our children at a two-seat spot across from the bar, feeling out of place and uncomfortable with the setting for a family celebration.As I returned from the restroom, my heart sank at the sight of an empty table nearby. The realization hit me hard, stirring up a whirlwind of thoughts, including the unsettling notion that our street attire and biracial family might not have fit the upscale image they sought to maintain.Voicing my concerns to my husband, I couldn't shake the feeling of being unfairly judged. It was disheartening to think that our appearance might have influenced the seating arrangement.The awkwardness peaked when a nearby patron overheard and brought our situation to the manager's attention, leading to the belated offer of a table. Despite the attempt to rectify the situation, the damage was done.Though the bartender and waiter were courteous, the decline in food quality was palpable, further adding to our disappointment. To top it off, my husband's order was incorrect, compounding our frustration.Leaving Black and Blue Steak and Crab, we couldn't help but feel let down by the entire experience. It's regrettable the treatment, tarnished what could have been a memorable celebration for our daughter's 16th birthday.This is our last time visiting, Black and Blue Steak and Crab.
