This is a cash-only bakery that seems to operate as a wholesaler but allows walk-in retail sales. It’s mostly hard rolls and sub rolls sold here. The rolls have a crispy outer shell but are soft and chewy inside and have an outstanding taste.

The storefront is a little dilapidated, and I wouldn't have known that it was open had the OPEN sign not been on. However, the people and their kindness more than make up for that. I walked in behind someone who said they had been a customer for 20 years. I almost walked out because I'm more of a patisserie, boulangerie kind of girl, and I noticed they mostly had rolls and Italian bread. But the man working behind the cashier was having such a lovely banter with the other customer, and when I said I wasn't sure if I had cash, both the customer and the storeowner said they would cover for me. Luckily I was able to scrounge up some change in my car, and let me tell you, the rolls were definitely worth it! They were deliciously soft and fluffy, it felt like I didn't have to chew the bread because it was that light! Honestly the interaction made my morning, and I'm glad I gave Prinzo's a try.

Prinzo's bakery is Albany's bread mainstay. Get a roll or loaf here and you are set for a day or two. These are quality rolls made from scratch by a pack of rowdy and funny bakers in the back. It's a little bit bakery, little bit hangout. The Prinzo bakery has really squirrelly hours: they are open in the A.M. until like 11 - then they take a long and possibly well-deserved 'bakers-siesta' until about 2 or three. In the hours in between, some bakers are there but the front door is locked: it's a real local shop, so to speak! Come in the morning for large orders or stop by and take a peek at the wood panel interior of this tiny Albany bakery in the afternoon for sandwich breads, loafs, baguettes and boules. Review: 5

True bakery!Nothing fancy for a store front here and parking is on street.Every item we bought was first quality and well baked and very uniform. Supply was limited simply due to the hour we arrived and they accept call in orders and wholesale.Best hard roll ever and with or without poppy seeds, slight crust on outside and pillowy soft center. Perfect for a sandwich, and bread held up nicely for a week at home.

People working and delivering are disrespectful. Also noticed a cat running around the inside the bakery??? While they are preparing???

Grabbed dinner rolls, baguettes and hard rolls right before thanksgiving. Called ahead to order. Amazingly delicious stuff.

Purchased rolls today and didn't expect my wife to come back to our vehicle very upset about her wearing a mask in the store!! Employees should keep their comments to themselves!! Not very considerate!!ap
