My boyfriend treated me to Yono's for Valentine's Day, and Yono's was probably one of the best culinary experiences I've ever had! We had their special Valentine's menu, which offered a 6-course tasting menu, and we decided to go with the wine pairings, which was an excellent choice. It was my first time experiencing the beauty of wine pairings, and I was amazed at how elegantly the wine enhanced each course - their selections of wines were *chefs kiss* The complexity, flavor, and intricacy of each dish were phenomenal. The 6-course meal featured chilled creek oysters, butter poached scallops, root vegetable potage, foie gras, filet mignon, and dark chocolate gateau--each dish was a masterpiece and so beautifully presented. My personal favorite was the foie gras. While Yono's is definitely on the pricey side, it's perfect for your fancy shmancy occasions. I'm looking forward to returning to explore their regular menu! Haven't been here in a year or so, but always impressed with quality and service. Usually quiet, but you can run into crowds on downtown Albany event nights.

Albany’s best kept secret! Why is this place hidden in the back of a hotel - needs to be a stand alone venue downtown! Excellent food, prepared and served exquisitely- impressive wine list. Very nice and attentive staff. I just wish the room was nicer.

Ambiance, service, food! Yono's was a delightful experience for my team and I. We attended a dinner hosted by our architectural firm and we were glad we did! We started off with hors d'oeuvres and drinks for a wonderful cocktail hour before dinner. The hors d'oeuvres alone could've served as a delicious dinner. Between the charcuterie board, seafood ravioli, delicious jumbo shrimp, and pan-seared tuna, we would have been satisfied! But then came the course menu! I had the midwinters salad--an acquired taste that can only be truly enjoyed by taking a bit of all of the ingredients in one taste to really enjoy the marriage of the flavors. For my main course, I choose the scallops. These were cooked to perfection--the curry oil and coconut flavors were delectable and complimented the sweet potatoes and crispy onions that topped the scallops. The dessert was so so good! I LOVE orange curd and it was delicious on a base of meringue topped with crushed pistachios. Y'all, this restaurant is top notch. The room was private and quiet with a fabulous pianist and bass player. The music provided ambiance but still allowed for conversation. The service was excellent. The servers were very attentive and just really fantastic! When a server noticed my purse on the floor, she came over with a tuffet and placed my purse on it. That was a lovely and appreciated gesture. This was, for my team and I, an experience that allowed us to enjoy each others' company while satisfying our appreciation for fine dining with excellent service. If you want to make your client feel special, I highly recommend Yono's for your private event.

If I could give this a 0 I would. The owner (Dominick P) and workers at Yonos are disrespectful , unprofessional, and flat out rude. Their food is as disgusting as their attitude… especially alice.

Second time here. Went for Valentine’s Day. Very displeased with overall dining experience. Food was good, but nothing wow about it. Ordered the more expensive wine pairing but there was no connection between the wine and the dish, I think the sommelier really missed the mark on this. The menu was changed and nuts were added to some dishes which were not previously there. I was surprised to see they didn’t ask about allergies before we ordered as two dishes came with them and there was a nut allergy issue. The space was crowded and loud, I realize it’s a holiday. We were served one course and had to wait 5 minutes before we got flatware. Doesn’t seem long until you’re sitting there staring at your food. We got served still water even though I paid for sparkling. For the money I spent this time, I can’t really justify going back unless I was given a good discount. The first time I came was a stark difference from what I just experienced. For the money I spent, I feel like I got robbed.

We loved our meals!!. Yono's also allowed people in our party the option of 3 course dining or the tasting menu. This worked out perfectly for our group. All of the food was delicious. The wait staff and the sommelier were extremely knowledgeable and helpful during our meal.

Service is very attentive without being intrusive. Food is creative and delicious. Dining room is quiet and elegant. Price is reasonable considering this level of food and service. Will recommend and return.

Went there for our Anniversary . First visit.Nice room . Slow to get first drink . Slow to get bread . Courses picked before drinks . Servers seemed rushed . My food was tasty but cool , not even warm . Bad form for prixe fix $96.00My wifes halibut was overcooked . Bad form .My wifes appetizer was unexpectedly raw goose meat , not pate as was expected . That may have been chef interpretation but weird . Server offered replave the course after my wife couldnt tolerate raw goose yet charged us for it over the prixe fix .Dessert time . 3 discussions about lemon Sorbet for my wifes dessert. They bring coconut out . Disjointed dinner as i had food when my wife did not service was well below average and for a restuarant of that price and track record .. just poor showing . Quite dissapointing $302 dollars later . Gave a good tip though , didnt want to blame server . Kitchen mistakes galore .. one and done .

service was great, and we were seated in a nice quiet private area without request (positive!), however - food was ok and my significant other became ill on the car ride home from something eaten (no alcohol involved). little concerning considering the $400 bill.

Why doesn't Yono's have at least one Michelin star? The service was impeccable from our server to the sommelier. The decor was pleasing and simple. The drinks and wine unique and exceptional. The food...oh the food! The oysters with their signature caviar and prosecco mignonette blew me away. The Thai influenced duck breast with smoked farro, chili roasted maitake, seared brussel sprouts, asian pear mostarda topped with a lime leaf candlenut and foie gras sauce was inventive, playful and satisfying. I could go on and on singing sweet praises but what I really want to do is make another reservation at this outstanding restaurant.

This restaurant has a great tasting menu filled with delectably cooked courses. I was amazed at the preparation and skill level for the Capital Region but it surpassed all expectations. Highly recommend the grand tasting menu and wine paring. Proteins were cooked immaculately, the service was stupendous and we essentially had the restaurant to ourselves during our 5PM reservation.

Great tasting menu, If you like spice make sure to let your waiter know, they are very good about little things like that. The wine pairing is good with a very knowledgable sommelier. The service is spot on and the atmostphere is very fine dining. Even without doing the tasting a 3 course meal there is also very good!
