We had the best meal at the Pointe and cannot wait to go back! While the restaurant is pretty unassuming, do not be fooled, it does not disappoint. The service was excellent with Dan going above and beyond by educating us on the area, offering to take a family photo overlooking the water (self portrait by Dan too), and even golf carting us to our car after the meal. The food could not have been better. We had the best onion rings and the juiciest, flavor-filled grilled chicken. We even enjoyed more than a dozen clean, juicy steamed clams. The Pointe is not to be overlooked!

The food was pretty darn good for a bar and grill. Zacharias was an excellent waiter. We had a great time and to be honest the view is absolutely the best in town,it's not even close. Little off the beaten path but worth it.

We always stop at the Pointe when we're on the river. The views, the breeze, and the wonderful staff are something not to be missed. Little pricey if you wanna add delicious cocktails to your order which I recommend you do! Buffalo chicken egg rolls, two cheeseburgers with fries and onion rings, and 3 rum runners came to 87 dollars with the drinks being $10 a piece. Will definitely be back.

Located on a marina pier, this is a good place for a hamburger and a beer, though not much else. The menu is small and hours are limited. The river breeze is strong, so hold on to your napkin.

The staff were nice. Our riverfront view was great. Other than that... look at the pics. Trying to regulate the shower temp was very difficult. I can't speak to the jacuzzi tub because I didn't want to take a chance with it. The deadbolt key didn't work and the doorknob key needed a special technique before patience wore out. I'll look for a different place next time. This place needs a serious make-over for $261 per night when we were there.

My husband and I were in the area and didn’t realize it was biker weekend in Alexandria Bay. While visiting, we heard about a Cher concert happening at Bonnie Castle. We went to have some dinner and purchased tickets to the show. Travis was the one who sold us our tickets, was very kind and had a lovely conversation with us. We both had an absolutely amazing time! We were from out of town, and regardless of the venue space visibly needing to be upgraded, we ended up enjoying everything about the concert. Next time we plan a trip to this area, we will definitely be keeping an eye out for more events like this at the resort. The concert was truly one of the highlights of our trip!

The views of Boldt Castle as you look out into the St Lawrence are fantastic. The food served at the wedding was very good. The gazebo not being prepared was a big hiccup. The rooms are very dated and in real need of updating. The area is spectacular.

Showed up on a Saturday in June with no reservation, as we often do. Never an issue getting a room. They are always very accomodating and welcoming. Yes the hotel is old but it's clean and comfortable. The staff, especially Polly and Sean at the lounge, always make us feel right at home. Only critisism would be that they didn't have the wonderful live music they used to. Time to bring back Paul Ferguson and DJ Rogers. See you in September Bonnie. And thanks again.

This is a tough review to write. The view of the St. Lawrence River and Boldt Castle are amazing. The property could be spectacular because of its location and unique features. But sadly the whole "resort" needs a serious glow up and none of the staff seemed to care much. Part of the problem here is the price. If the rooms were $100 a night then the price and what you got would be even. For $200+ a night you hope to have a decent 3 star place to stay. We came for a wedding and stayed here because of that. Adding the terms castle and resort in the name are not quite accurate. I'd say it's more like a very large, retro motel. Don't get me wrong, not everything needs to be fancy or 5 star to be good but you always hope to stay in properties that are cared for. A newer holiday inn express or home to suites would be a huge upgrade to the room we had. This place is definitely retro and they could make it work for them. But some updates, basic grounds keeping, and repairs such as fixing hardware and fixtures so they would properly could add a lot of perceived value into the rooms. The pluses on top of the views are that the rooms were generally clean. Plenty of towels and clean linens on the bed. This place is pet friendly for a nightly fee so bringing a companion is always nice. The food is pretty good for a wedding, event or I am also told dinner. It is surrounded by water and docks so you can bring your boat and rent a transient slip if you need. The rooms are a decent size and I think most include a working fridge. The bed was a decent size but it was extremely creeky so if you are a light sleeper bring some ear plugs. The property is also large if you are traveling with a large group. Some suggestions for the management, turn off the lights late at night that are attached to the rooms, make them motion censored or something. The bugs are attracted to the lights and way too many end up in guest rooms. Understandable you get some near the water but it seemed like nothing was done to try and help this situation. For $200+ a night you should add more than one bar of soap and some toiletries in the rooms. You guys aren't spending much on renovation or maintaining the property so it's the least you could do. If there is an outdoor wedding you need to have someone sweep off the deck and wipe down/ clean the chairs before the ceremony. The bride was fortunate enough to have family who checked and did the cleaning before the ceremony. We asked the front desk for a broom and we were told to find a groundskeeper. We are considering sending you an invoice for our work on your property. If you need to stay there are some newer rooms which are attached to the main building and have jacuzzi's. Try and get yourself one of those or try another spot in Clayton.

We LOVED the accommodations at this resort! Very friendly, resourceful, customer service staff throughout our stay. Our spacious room had a king size bed with its own balcony over looking the St. Lawrence River. Our room came with a GIANT soaker tub with jets..big enough for two larger adults to enjoy together or alone. Very relaxing at the end of a day of sight seeing the town of Alexandria Bay and the Boldt Castle Tour. The room was clean, with everything we needed to enjoy our wkend getaway. We highly recommend this resort. Thank you to the Staff for hosting us and helping us make priceless memories of a lifetime. We love A-Bay!

I only had one night to stay in Alex Bay and this place was a great experience. The person at the desk was very friendly and helpful. The views of the river and the Boldt house from the property are magnificent. It was clean and quiet and within short walking distance of shops and restaurants. Wifi worked perfectly. It was a little dated, but nothing looked worn out. Would stay again!
