It's a different truck (blue instead of orange). Not sure if the same ppl are running it. Anyway, it wasn't the usual guy in the truck. Food was bland. There was no seasoning in the chicken or rice. The sauces didn't add anything to the flavoring.

The guy working the cart was smoking a cigarette outside the cart and ran inside.I ordered a gyro over rice and the guy thought I said mixed over rice. He became upset and made me another order but didn’t include any fries as he has done in the past.Sorry but you lost another customer.

The halal cart stand on ditmars blvd in Astoria is ok when you happen to be in area and want a quick filling bite for under 10 bucks. The lamb with yellow rice and salad is the most popular dish and skipping the heavy white sauce is preferred for me as a little red hot sauce is good enough .You can get chicken , falafel, as well and the portions are better then average for the price. For the two times I have grab food here both times I was satisfied with the taste of the lamb and the lightness of the fluffy yellow rice also . It's not the best food cart and it's not the worst and if you happen to be in the area and want halal food from a street stand I would not hesitate to give halal cart a try .3.5 stars on my yelp meter .

The best halal food I had in a while! 10/10 would recommend
Ordered the grill mix; didn't have a clue what it was. Was not disappointed. SO. MUCH. FLAVOR. Could've ordered extra white sauce but it's delicious either way.

So it was our first time trying halal food and to be honest it was delicious. Very different flavors but everything worked really well together. Super fresh and had a strong aromatic taste. The meat was all tender and had great flavor. Definitely can’t wait to come back and try more. Thanks !!
