I finally tried this place. I had a plate of beef gyro, rice, and salad. It was delicious. The beef was crisp and savory. The rice was perfectly al dente. The salad was fresh with a hint of mint. They gave me Turkish tea for free. I highly recommend people go here and give it business. It was reasonable. You could sit down and didn’t have to throw out plastic. I would like to eat here more!

If I can give this place zero stars I would. First we went there and the place was completely empty on a Saturday night. Didn’t think much of it. Second anything I wanted to order they “ ran out of it, can they were so busy earlier”, that was the second clue. I ordered a Turkish coffee before my food cause I was feeling tired. There was a roach in my coffee. A freaking roach. I called the waitress over, and no apologies no nothing, but she asked if I wanted a another one. Are you freaking kidding me. We walked out, I never in my life have ever experienced roaches in food. Thank god I ordered the coffee first, god knows what was walking around on the food. Stay away if you value hygienic clean places.

Nice, unassuming new Turkish restaurant on Broadway in Astoria. I had noticed this eatery once or twice hidden amongst all the awnings near the Broadway subway stop. The previous incarnation of this eatery had been a gyro and souvlaki that had opened during the pandemic and then shuttered a year or so ago. If I remember correctly, there had been another more heralded Turkish restaurant, Lokanta, that closed, and I was wondering if there was a connection between the two? The owner of Lokanta had died before the old restaurant went out of business. Sipsak opened in 2022 with little publicity as one of several new Turkish restaurants in Astoria. So I just had to go and try them! When you enter Sipsak, you find a dimly lit..some might argue romantic -eatery. I headed to the back of the restaurant and glanced through the menu. I ended up ordering a chicken shish kebab with salad and rice. The kebab itself was a little too dry for me, with not enough flavor, and not satisfying as a meal, as I was still hungry when I left them. Overall an average experience. They are definitely one of Astoria's top Turkish restaurants.!

Decent Mediterranean cuisine. I enjoyed the lamb gyro sandwich I ordered with the Portakalli Gazoz soda (orange).I requested feta on the lamb sandwich and it was delicious. The pita bread was well toasted as well. The lamb meat was perfectly seasoned to my liking. Not at all bland nor spicy. And it definitely wasn't that cardboard looking gyro meat that some places pass off as lamb..Oddly enough but true..lol..They have around 10 tables there of you want to enjoy a meal there. Again, I would order the same thing again at this Sip Sap (Astoria) location. They have a Sip Sap in midtown as well.Genuine review here...More positive Google reviews than negatives about this place. You be the judge. ?
