We recently had our daughters baptism dinner at Trattoria L'incontra and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our event was enjoyable and accommodative. Alfredo and his team were extremely friendly and attentive to every detail. During our meal, Chef Rocco came out to ask how everything was and even brought us another pasta course to try on the house. The food was truly exceptional. Each dish was presented beautifully and tasted even better. Overall, I highly recommend Trattoria L'incontra to anyone looking for a great dining experience. The combination of excellent service and delicious food makes it a standout restaurant in the area. I can't wait to go back!

Its so good so so so good. They have a bunch of specials that change pretty frequently so pay attention to the server when they tell you!!!! Seriously its like they list a whole other menu. The bread and dip that comes for the table is also delicious.

Italian chef from Abruzzo, very friendly and nice.As soon as we sat down they brought us water and a piece of focaccia with I think some dried tomato sauce on the side, both very good.We ate homemade pasta (excellent);Pinsa (excellent).Rocco, the chef, offered us a pinsa with Nutella and an ice cream with eggnog fondue, both of which were sensational.Advised.

Hadn't been there for several years & it was as good as ever. Perfect, professional service. Menu seems smaller but with so many specials, a larger menu isn't necessary. The burrata & prosciutto appetizer is excellent & can easily be shared. Coming from Northern NJ, Astoria is a perfect area to meet friends from Long Island.

Visiting from Scottsdale Arizona so this was my first time at this restaurant and boy was it delicious. Everything was prepared wonderfully. So many specials to choose from. Highly recommend. Wine list is a bit limited.

Very nice upscale Italian. Food and service were terrific and prices reasonable. The interior is a little dated/worn. For example, they have beautiful high ceilings but inexplicably it's covered in drop-ceiling type tiles that are sagging and stained in spots. That detracts from the otherwise elegant surroundings. I also wish they had a full bar but they had a god selection of beer and wine by the glass. Definitely worth a visit to celebrate a special occasion. I don't feel like I would ever drop in for a casual weekday meal, though I couldn't say what the atmosphere is like during the week as we were there peak time on a Saturday night. It just felt more formal and suited to a celebratory dinner.
Food was amazing! I would go back again and again, especially for the pistachio crème brûlée. As a more introverted person, I was slightly uncomfortable with the service. When our shared appetizer came, instead of my partner & me diving up the food ourselves; the server was there to put it on our individual plates every time our plates got empty. It was fancy, but I enjoy more privacy. I also felt very rushed ordering and was pressured to order everything right away even though I made it known I did not know what I wanted. It was a busy Friday night, looked like they had big parties coming in, so I understood needing to be efficient for the overall service to others. I could not hear the server over how loud the restaurant was, so I got something very delicious but not exactly what I was hoping for. Overall, a really enjoyable experience and some of the best Italian food I've ever had! I will definitely recommend and go back! But if you are more introverted, aim to go during slower hours !
