Farm to Fire by Hudson Valley BBQ is simply the best. The food is absolutely amazing, but what makes it even better is the experience that you and your guest will have. Chef Brandon really listens to his clients and customizes the menu to your experience. I never thought comfort food could be so classy and well done. Several of the guest commented that this was the best food they’ve ever had at a catered event. I’m so glad that I listen to all the recommendations from others. Seriously. Give them a call. You won’t regret it.

The Farm to Fire Team catered my daughter's wedding last year. From the start, the experience was just fantastic. We spent a lot of time customizing the menu and Brandon was so accommodating. No stone was left unturned during the planning process. It took a lot of stress off our plate, so to say!We had so much fun the day of the wedding. The cooking equipment was so fun to see and the foodturned out absolutely delicious.Every piece of the day was just perfect.Brandon became a friend to all of us and wecould not recommend their services enough.

The food is next level if you’re looking to stand out for your wedding or event no need to look at anyone else. Brandon and Hudson Valley BBQ will come through like you wouldn’t believe. Seeing the fire from his cooking stations and then the presentations that come out are just stunning. I’ve been to weddings that he has done years ago and people are still talking about the food!

Brandon is such a wonderful and talented vendor to work with. He talks to you like you are his family and makes the whole process exciting! Definitely recommend. :)

HVBBQ and the whole team were an absolute dream to work with throughout the whole wedding process. Brandon was the first vendor we booked (before even being sure about our venue) because we just loved how his food looked and our initial conversations with him. We worked together to create our dream menu, filled with our favorite foods and celebrating different places we have lived. Heather made sure that there was communication throughout the whole process and the tasting was one of the best parts of planning- getting to try all the delicious foods and talk about everything. On the wedding day I saw Brandon right before walking down the aisle, he gave me a huge hug and totally calmed all my nerves. The food was delicious and it was so fun getting to watch Brandon cook. Some of our guests were trying to bribe Brandon's staff for more short ribs (no bribes needed, more was brought out right away). His staff were amazing throughout the whole night. Thank you to Brandon and the HVBBQ team!

We could not be happier with our decision to work with Brandon and everyone at Farm to Fire to cater our wedding. I'm not sure "no" is in Brandon's vocabulary as he was up for whatever we threw at him. From our initial conversation with endless questions about food options, food allergies and how those would be handled, set-up, serving and everything in between, Brandon had the right answer and put our minds at ease. Within a week of making the decision to go with Farm to Fire, Brandon sent over a menu that blew us away. We had given him a few ideas we'd seen at other weddings as well as some of our favorite dishes, and from those notes he created a diverse menu that perfectly reflected us. From there he was incredibly communicative; getting back to emails, texts or calls almost immediately. A few months prior to the big day we were able to sit down with Brandon for a tasting and while we expected that it would be good, he exceeded those expectations. Of course that was for just the two of us but when it came time to cook for 150+ people the quality didn't waver. Brandon's giant open-flame rig was such a fun and unique site to greet our guests and certainly piqued everyone's interest as to what was in store for dinner. Everyone got their first taste during the cocktail hour where the grazing table and hors d'oeuvres drew rave reviews (special shout-out to the bite-sized reubens!). Brandon's staff was on top of EVERYTHING during that time; constantly circulating the hors d'oeuvres and even taking the time to make a special platter for my wife and I, as they noticed how busy we were conversing and posing for pictures. Obviously the big part of the night was dinner and once again, these guys went above and beyond. From the perfectly cooked cedar plank salmon to the mouthwatering picanha served with a variety of toppings - a special request so that people were able to dress their steak how they liked with either blue cheese crumbles, chimichurri or horseradish cream - everything tasted incredible. Finally, we ended the night with a classic - cookies & ice cream - and despite a muggy night, they pulled it off! Almost forgot to mention that somehow Brandon was able to do his open-fire cooking not just on a hot, muggy day but also on a day that saw a steady rain for a good half hour prior to the ceremony. Still not sure how he pulled that off. It was truly a pleasure to work with Brandon but just as much of a pleasure to watch him work; a true master of his craft who takes great pride in what he does. I would HIGHLY recommend you allow Brandon and his crew to make your special day that much more special!

We hired Brandon and Farm to Fire to Cater our wedding on September 9, 2023, and would highly recommend! Brandon and Heather were incredibly responsive throughout the planning process, and were flexible on menu planning with respect to the dishes and drinks! We were able to do a tasting in May and discuss our vision further with Brandon in person. At the wedding, they saved us a plate of appetizers from the cocktail hour and then the food came out right on time. Our food included chicken and chorizo paella, pork with chimichurri and chicken, as well as Smashed potatoes, carrots with whipped cheese, and candied Brussel sprouts which were delicious. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures because I did not have my phone kn me, but everyone raved afterward about the quality of the food and drinks.

It's taken us a long time to write this because of the pain and stress we experienced due to Brandon on our wedding day and in the weeks leading up. It almost doesn't make sense to write a review because, as you see below, he responds with seemingly reasonable (but gaslighting) explanations. We will leave it at this, we urge you to protect yourself and find someone else to work with for your special day.If you would like more specifics, please feel free to reach out.

Everyone with HVBBQ was simply amazing along with the food! From the first phone call with Brandon be made eveything so easy. He was always a phone call away if I had any questions or concerns. Communication was great with the whole team. No matter what we asked for Brandon was always willing to accommodate any requests with ease. Now of course to the food! We did not want your “typical” wedding dinner and we’re SO excited when we found HVBBQ. The food was exactly what we wanted and everyone raved about how delicious is was! It was not a wedding you left hungry with small portions either which was so refreshing. A dream team and amaaaaaazing food. I would highly recommend HVBBQ!!! Still dreaming about the steak and Brussels sprouts ?

Brandon and his team are the best in the business, they go beyond your needs and expectations. His food is amazing and you will never seen anyone duplicate the wild and awesome things he comes up with. Very unique and one of a kind. Your quests will leave talking about their culinary experience for a long time to come.

I can’t express to you how amazing Brandon, Heather and their whole team was. The process from start to finish was effortless. Brandon started it off by asking us our favorite foods and then curated a full menu for our wedding, not leaving a single item off. The food turned out AMAZING! All of our guests were blown away and have not stopped talking about it since. Brandon and his staff were extremely proffesional and did everything to make our day so special! Book them immediately, best decision we made.

Super late post from our experience between August 2020-October 2021:I’d like to start off by saying that Brandon is extremely likable and that’s a big part of the reason we chose him.Though after we signed the contract we felt as if we didn’t matter anymore. We wanted to do our tasting as soon as possible, but it was pushed back due to covid, which is understandable. However, it was never rescheduled. Less than two months before our wedding, it still wasn’t scheduled or spoken of and all communication was very slow.A couple things happened leading up to the wedding as well.We had chosen a winery and we thought that the outdoor barbecue pit/food would be a perfect fit.But a month and a half before our wedding in May 2021, we ending up having to switch venues because the one we had chosen was unable to accommodate our guest count due to state guidelines. We scrambled to find a new venue and the one we chose was indoors - we were going to reach out to Brandon to see if he could accommodate this, but we hesitated and were referred to a caterer in town that was familiar with the venue. And the reason we hesitated was because if we couldn’t so much as schedule a tasting with Brandon, what made us think that the sudden venue change would be accommodated. Being one of the most important days of our lives, we didn’t want to risk it.So we cancelled with Brandon and kindly asked if some of our deposit could be returned. We hoped for the best, but understood that we had signed a contract and would be forfeiting it.After we sent the email about cancelling, we heard nothing back.Months after the wedding, still nothing. So I called and texted…over and over again. One day, he finally answered the phone and explained the situation. He acknowledged that things were a little disorganized because he hired someone new and they were also changing locations. He also previously told us that he had broken his arm.He then said he would send me an email to follow up on our conversation..I never received that email, so I called and texted…over and over again.I finally reached him months later and he told me that the email he was going to send was going to be about why we couldn’t get our deposit back. And that was the end of it.We take responsibility for everything that happened on our end. We should’ve been more cautious, but we were eager to lockdown a caterer. It’s unfortunate how everything played out, but what else could you expect from planning a wedding in the midst of covid. This is a cautionary review and one that is solely based on our experience. It’s likely that things are different now so we’re not saying don’t give Brandon a chance, but schedule your tasting before making a deposit and when you do make the deposit, put down as little as possible. It’s always good practice to meet people in person if you can - to get a feel of their operation/professionalism. You’ll quickly be able to tell if you’re willing to entrust them with your big day.

Farm to fire created a beautiful and delicious wedding feast. They were professional, knowledgeable and super easy to work with. Food was outstanding. Staff was wonderful. They went above and beyond! In-house wedding planner, Heather, did a beautiful job, tending to every detail prior to the event.

Looking for a Catering Company for Your Wedding? Keep Searching. As I dive into the planning of my own wedding, I can't help but reflect on my friend's experience with a catering company that fell short of delivering a satisfactory dining experience. What's more disheartening is their response to feedback, lacking the empathy and reflection that future clients seek in their vendors.During my friend's wedding, there was great potential for an exceptional dining experience, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations. The concept of shared family-style dishes on each table was enticing, but the pacing of the meal left much to be desired. When the long-awaited protein was finally ready, the lines to retrieve it were extensive, and to make matters worse, the meat was undercooked and cold. It was a significant disappointment, rendering the main course practically inedible. Despite my initial excitement for a satisfying dinner, I ended up passing on it altogether. We all understand that mishaps can occur, but what struck me most was the catering company's inability to effectively address customer concerns and disappointments. Whether they were shifting blame or diverting attention by highlighting compliments from other clients, their response lacked the necessary balance between clarifying misunderstandings and taking responsibility for their shortcomings. As I embark on my own wedding planning journey, I'm committed to finding a catering company that prioritizes customer satisfaction and ensures a memorable experience.
