My mom and I went here for dessert one night during the summer for my birthday. This place is always packed and has great reviews so we'd wanted to try it out. The menu didn't really have anything that looked terrific to us so we decided to try dessert. I had the donut bread pudding and thought it was really good. My mom had a peach cobbler and the fruit tasted a bit past its peak. The peaches weren't flavorful at all. I understand this can happen towards the end of the season for fresh fruits but if that was the case, I wouldn't have served something that wasn't of the ideal quality. The staff was friendly and sang happy birthday, which was very sweet. It is super cute inside and was very enjoyable to sit outside. The menu prices are on the higher side and from what I saw, the portions were on the smaller side. I would possibly go again for dessert and if I saw something from the specials that looked good, I wouldn't mind trying the food here. Honestly, when I'm in the mood to go out or have dessert, I've considered going here but always choose somewhere else, even if I have to drive a bit farther.

I ended up at this restaurant as a nearby Turkish place was closed due to snow in April. We were a party of 4 and got seated immediately even though we showed up without a reservation. This placed was packed on Thursday evening. The waitress was courteous and offered us some treats while we decided on our dinner. We got calamari and roasted cauliflower for the starters moving on to salmon, scallops and a vegetarian dish that the waitress suggested. Flavors were on the spot and cooked to perfection. Must visit if you are in Saratoga or Ballston Spa.Vegetarian options: Not much to choose from but you won’t go hungry.

Had a wonderful date night here, we dined at the bar on a busy friday night. Derek took care of us and he was absolutely wonderful. So personable and friendly, And very knowledgeable with the specials and menu. Food was delicious, I was really looking forward to the Butter scotch Creme brulee which was absolutely Delicious!! Cozy upscale restaurant with a delicious menu!

We had dinner on Saturday and it was so packed at 5 pm already. Inside the restaurant was not so spacious but still cozy and not so noisy. My husband and I had Fried chicken and Shrimp and grits, our friends Salmon and Fillet mignon from the specials. The food was all excellent! I would say my fried chicken could be the best of best in the area. The service was good too. The only reason I took one star out is the prices....l know it's worth paying for but some seemed overpriced and this is the restaurant for just special occasions.

Had a great dinner with fantastic service by Jacquline. We were seated promptly at a nice front window located table. At the table already was the drink and food menu. So many good choices and if you are a bourbon drinker there are well over 100 bottles including some very premium ones. We ordered two glasses of wine, Pinot Grigio and a delicious oaky Chardonnay. Two small slivers of homemade bread with a drop of two chutneys and hummus were complimentary, a nice touch. We split an appetizer, 3 deep fried fritters stuffed with crab and ricotta; so delicious and cooked to perfection. We each had a mixed green salad with balsamic vinaigrette dressing. If any issue would be the salad, no other vegetables or toppings included and a $7 price tag each. My wife ordered the scallops special, perfectly seared with some crab meat and prepared in a celery root and artichoke topping all infused with flavored oils. I ordered a fried chicken dinner (bone in) and it came with pimento mac & cheese so good) with collard greens that were hearty and so tasty. The hardy serving of chicken was perfectly crispy with the meat moist. One of the best I have had in awhile. There was a little applesauce served with my dinner as well. The desert menu was so good with lots of choices; we split the sticky toffee pudding (just like Gordon Ramsey) served with vanilla ice cream; could have ate 4 of them it was so good. I wish I ordered the apple cider donut bread pudding too. The server said her favorite was the chocolate decadent cake. There will certainly be a next time. The prices are $$$$ but I knew it and have no concerns. Will definitely be a return customer as I want to dry multiple menu entrees and desserts. ?

I have a dairy allergy. When I let my waiter know, he told me there was nothing on the menu that didn't have dairy and no substitutions could be made. The only item was a salad, the size of which was definitively a side salad. I left hungry.I was very disappointed. My husband ordered the fried chicken and really enjoyed it. The drinks were also very tasty. I was just extremely disappointed that the restaurant could not make anything without butter or cream.
Came to celebrate 35th wedding anniversary. Waited for twenty minutes for server to acknowledge us. All the other tables around us were receiving drinks, appetizers etc.Ruined the evening. Not sure we will return.

This was recommended to us by a friend to come to during our visit to the area. We sat at the bar and had drinks while waiting for our table to be ready and the bartender was nice and the drinks were good that we ordered. After being sat we were quickly helped , the tomato and burrata salad was delicious. We also ordered the brussel sprouts and meatballs and they were delicious. I tried the scallops on the dinner specials list and it was very tasty as well. The sticky toffee pudding was amazing for dessert. Overall everything was excellent and we were very happy with this place and recommend it.
A wonderful restaurant in the heart of Ballston Spa. The restaurant has an intimate atmosphere, friendly staff and the impeccable food. The Next Door has a very extensive liquor selection. I will definitely return when in the area.

Highly recommend this place for an amazing experience. I wish I thought to take better photos but I enjoyed my date and the environment too much to remember to take out my phone!
