It's always a pleasure to visit the restaurant with great food, perfect servers, and always welcome at the door. Friendly, prices are always reasonable with outstanding quality.

Not surprisingly, eleven years is a long time between visits. Many things change. The Ripe Tomato looks the same as it did when I last reviewed it. The service is still friendly. Maybe my standards have change somewhat. But whatever the reason I feel the need to lower my rating. On a rainy Sunday we arrived just after 6 pm. The main dining area was full, so we were seated in the addition with the metal roof. We, and several others who arrived after us, kept our coats on while we dined. I don't know if the baseboard heat was turned on, but I did feel warmer while I was eating. A very thickly cut and crispy crusted bread with garlic soaked olive oil was promptly served with glasses of tap water. I avoided eating all of the delicious bread so I wouldn't fill up before dinner arrived. Pints of Switchback Lager and Guinness ($6 each) continued to keep our thirst quenched until the arrival of the Crispy Cheese Curds ($13.95) for our appetizer. The seasoned and breaded cheese was served with sides of both a marinara and an excellent raspberry Melba sauce. Some of the bread that I saved earlier was also delicious dipped in the marinara. Overall, this was a very enjoyable start to dinner. My wife and I both had our attention grabbed by an entrée Special, Mediterranean Scampi ($26.95). She offered it to me and ordered the Eggplant Parmigiana ($19.95) which she had focused on before noticing the Scampi. The Scampi had a combination of sea scallops, jumbo shrimp, littleneck clams, and chopped ocean clams sauteed in a classic lemon scampi sauce with tomatoes, kalamata olives, and asparagus tips. All of this was served over linguine with some feta cheese. It was impressive to look at. Overall, it tasted good even though the clams were overcooked, but the flavor lacked a wow factor. My wife's eggplant lacked eggplant flavor. She said the eggplant was sliced so thin you only tasted the breading and the sauce. Having earlier enjoyed both the bread and cheese curds, she never even touched the side of linguine and sauce.

Got pick up catering for a baby shower from these guys. Awesome, couldn't have been happier, everything was great!

Went to Ripe Tomato tonight for dinner and was not disappointed. Starting with their bread which I couldn't stop eating. I had the special Pasta Milano and it was so good I wish I hadn't eaten all that bread. The others in our party ordered veal parm and seafood FraDiablo which were OK but nothing special. Our waitress was great and the atmosphere is a little loud but not deafening. If you haven't been give it a try and enjoy. Suggest you make reservations of you go on weekend.

My first time there. Party for my husband. Christian was our server. He did an excellent job! We had about 17 people and everyone was happy. He gladly did separate checks for us which a lot of places won't anything larger than 4. He was very personable, always checking on everyone. Food was fantastic. And prices and variety of food was great. Will definitely go back.

We have always enjoyed this restaurant. The food is wonderful. The staff are thoughtful and accommodating. Love the table cloths that are paper and the crayons for coloring.Vegetarian options: I was able to order a eggplant sandwich. It was phenomenal! The pesto may was Devine.Parking: It can get busy, and the parking lot can fill up. Plan ahead. Otherwise it is fine.

I would like to preface this review by stating that I understand it can be difficult to deal with large parties a few hours to closing, and I also cannot say that I was not impressed by some of the people in my parties actions during the time at which we were in the restaurant. (A spilled drink, loud talking) The Ripe Tomato is a very cute spot in Malta. My party had a reservation originally for 6:30, however our event ran late and we had to push things back to 7. The restaurant was very accommodating and understanding, which was much appreciated! The food was good, but nothing to write home about. My main reason for writing this review was the service my party experienced with one waiter. While collecting empty drinks, a wine glass had fell off the tray and hit one of the party members on the head, it then fell to the floor and broke. This situation was blamed on the party member who’s head it had hit by the waiter. Something along the lines of ‘actually it was your fault’ was stated. (Mistakes happen! No one was hurt, and we wouldn’t have cared if the waiter had taken responsibility for the situation). The owner of the restaurant seems very nice based off of the other reviews, and I don’t mean for anyone to get in trouble due to this review. We live out of town and simply wanted to share our experience with others. Again, we understand it must have been a long, tiresome night for the staff. I wish only the best for the Ripe Tomato and its staff.

Went in for dinner on Saturday. The food was great as always. Our server was attentive and super friendly with our two little boys. I would recommend this place for a nice comfort meal with family.

I was sitting at the bar and someone came in to purchase a gift certificate. Jackie at the bar was so thankful, she told the customer... thank you buying local... I loved it.

Our first time dining at Ripe Tomato was an awesome experience! Our table tried a variety of items including the all American burger, the crabby mac and cheese, fettuccine alfredo with shrimp, eggplant parmigiana, and pollo tres modos. Everything was excellent, including the bread from Rock Hill Bakehouse served warm with delicious garlic butter and garlic olive oil. The burger was huge and tasty, the crabby mac and cheese was the creamiest, cheesiest mac and cheese I’ve ever had, and the alfredo was so cheesy, creamy, and delicious with 5 huge tender shrimp. The eggplant parm was great, lightly breaded with a tasty red sauce, and the pollo tres modos was also excellent. Our server was great and took great care of us. Prices are reasonable here, as well. We’ll definitely be back!!
