Just came from moms day dinner brunch a little disappointed with selection too many cold salads and seafood dishes desert table was nice but some penne ala vodka or chix parm or chix Frances would have been nice just a thought been to many buffets

I've been wanting to dine here for quite some time and finally had a chance. We made reservations to celebrate my friend's birthday. The staff was great. When you arrive, you are greeted by very friendly valet attendants. Make sure you tip them well. They are fabulous, and there is no charge for the service.Our server's name was Mary Rose. Very nice lady. She didn't miss a beat and made sure to celebrate my friend's birthday. Excellent service!As for the food, we ordered from the specials. The clams were fabulous. We did have to request bread a few times, but it was worth it because the sauce was that good. You wanted to enjoy every drop.We also ordered the lobster bisque. It had a few pieces of real lobster in it, but the broth had too much corn starch or whatever thickener they used. It made it thick like glue and not very tasty. This was disappointing, especially after such a wonderful appetizer.The swordfish was seasoned and cooked perfectly. It came with risotto, which was completely overcooked and mushy. It went back, and a side of plain potatoes with shredded carrots and stringbeans were brought out in its place. The string beans should have been prepped better. I almost choked on one because it had not been prepped. We also ordered the grouper, which was also good. It was served with mashed potatoes. They were buttery. I would suggest them over the roasted potatoes any day.For dessert, we ordered carrot cake. It was great. Not overly sweet and covered with a lot of nuts. The whipped cream was fresh and thick. It was served with a fresh strawberry.This is a really beautiful restaurant with great service. Perhaps the kitchen was having an off night, but it was a decent evening. I can't rate it 5 stars for the food, but everything else was great. I can't say I am going to rush back here, but if I come back, I hope the food is better, especially for the price.Parking: The valet are great. Tip them well. They work hard!
We had our wedding reception at Captain Bill's Commador Inn 36 years ago, the food and service was phenomenal then and our resent Birthday luncheon with a friend was exactly the same. Wonderful atmosphere is a bonus!!

The food was excellent. The catering was poorly handled. Coffee never offered until we pushed for it. Cake never cut until we pushed for it. The facility has always been a quality location. Wine was set up behind the bar but no one knew. The were never offered a glass.

I was pleasantly surprised. The food and service were superb! We weren't rushed although the dining room was packed. My wife had the oysters and I the shrimp cocktail as appetizers while she had the halibut, and I had the Grouper as a main course. Everything was fresh and tasted like it had just arrived that day. I highly recommend this restaurant as a fabulous Long Island south shore fish restaurant.

Our time see spend there is always enjoyable and delicious. I had the flounder and my wife had the stuffed shrimp. Always good the only down part was the decade coffee was very strong . But the food is amazing

Absolutely phenomenal! Getting harder and harder to find excellent food with an atmosphere and decent prices. Best meal we've had quite some time. And put prime rib was delicious and season perfectly and my wife's halibut in a butter sauce was excellent.
Generous order of fried calamari, but too salty. Came for lobster. Waitress told us they were suppose to get them in, but they hadn't arrived. We ordered something else and as we began to eat dinner the lobsters arrived. If we knew the lobsters would arrive soon, we would have waited for them. Needless to say, we were disappointed!!!!

We had our usual outstanding experience at Captain Bill's for lunch. Significant other enjoyed the white wine special, Cape Dreams (South Africa) reasonably priced. I started with soup de jour, black bean with chipotle sour cream. Excellent - some spice and full of flavor. SO raved about hers - baked stuffed clams. Had fried flounder sandwich - part of two course prix fixe lunch. Expertly fried. Lunch was a terrific value IMO. SO enjoyed the fried shrimp. Desert was carrot cake. Moist and balanced sweetness. Large portion. Service was attentive but unobtrusive - thanks to David. our server. As usual, great seascape views, clean premises, and good value.

I was there sunday for brunch The food was good I didn't like that we had to be fed along with a bridal shower It was the second time other than that only complaint the food was a mix and i got fullParking: Kinda confusing we didnt know you didnt have to use valet just gotta read signs some places are meters
Food was good , not that impressed with hot breakfast , eggs Benedict over cooked l, prime rib was delicious ! Server were nice but not attentive , they focused on large parties and not tables for 2. We constantly had to call out to request coffee ans water. They never came over to see if we needed anything.. valet service only in parking lot. Overall it wasn't worth the price.

We were there during restaurant week, it turned out to be an excellent choice. The food was delicious, the wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere was relaxing.
Nice restaurant and views.. The food was very good.. Service was ok at best. We were a table of 7 and saw our waiter about every 20 minutes. Would definitely try it again.

Was expecting dinner to be a much better experience. Had to send my Filet Mignon back three times until they got it right. Even then, it was terrible. Asked the waitress for things that she never brought to us. Nobody ever came to the table to refill out waters. Couldn't find the waitress every time we needed her. Would not recommend this place at all.
