Best Italian hero…I’ve flown sandwiches across the country to other Leggio’s fans. A sandwich so good that even a day on a plane doesn’t hurt the nostalgic joy of eating a sandwich from the same deli from your childhood. :-)

Ben going to this deli since I was a child. Hard to look at but it's like going to cheers. Lou and Joe are the best. Could def use a face-lift but hey that's what you get

These are the best authentic italian heros in long island. Always my favorite deli if you live in long island you have to come here at least once!!!!!

You'll live. And you haven't lived until you come here. Don't tell them what you want. Ask them. And say yes. And remember...you'll live.

Old Fashioned Heroes that you used to get as a kid! Grab a Hero and sides. Takes you back to the '70s and listening to 77 AM on radio w/ Ron Lundy

Great Italian Hero as good as any I've had in Manhattan. One of Long Islands best kept secrets.

Dirty store, the person who makes the sandwiches doesn't wash or sanitize his hands before making the sandwiches. And there are flies in the store. I understand the emotional attachment people have to this deli, seeing as it's been in business since like the 1600's (sarcasm)...however, I think it's time to shut it down.

Visited for sandwich pickup. Got Italian and turkey. Both pretty tasty. Old fashioned but tasty. As advertised, generous portions at 1970's prices at a location that's unusual. Spoke to owner, been at this 58 years. Former banker, turned deli man. Support your neighborhood small businesses. Thank you Yelp community, I would have never find places like this.

My husband Roy passed away 10/17/2020 we went to Bay Shore High school and went to Leggio's all the time. This was back in the 60's. Great to hear that Joe and Louise are still there, they always made you feel like family. Great food and great people.
