Good portions of meat however, the carbs (rice, noodles} somehow miss the mark. The popcorn chicken is really good even without the spicy seasoning, there is plenty of flavor. Love the self-service hot tea and cold water station. CASH ONLY. (Update: Food tastes better the next day. Let it sauces sit and marinate overnight.)Parking: Small parking lot but you can get a spot if you're patient and avoid peak hours.

A cozy Taiwan restaurant in Bayside with high quality price ratio.Highlight: 5 mins to Cross Island Parkway exit 31w.Note: Cash only. Venmo/Zelle not available.Must-try: Lu Rou Fan 卤肉饭,Taiwanese Salt Pepper Popcorn Chicken 盐酥鸡Recommendation: Gua Bao刈包, beef in Niu Rou Mian 牛肉面Food: We ordered Lu Rou Fan (braised pork rice), Gua Bao (meat bun), Niu Rou Mian (beef noodles), and salt pepper popcorn chicken. The best part is how tender and soft the meat is, even the fatty parts melt in your mouth. They offer two types of rice, Lu Rou Fan and Khong Rou Fan. Gua Bao uses the same Khong Rou in Khong Rou Fan. Khong Rou is a large piece of meat with fat and lean parts. Gua Bao uses crushed peanuts and sugar on the meat. If you like big bites of meat, you will probably like this texture. Note that it is relatively greasy compared to other dishes. The crispy fried chicken is quite tender, but a bit salty. The beef in the beef noodles is top-notch, sadly the noodles are too soft and lack chewiness. My personal favorite is Lu Rou Fan. It has pickled cucumbers inside with a slightly sour but refreshing taste to balance the greasiness. The sportion of food is another highlight. It is more filling than it looks.Price: It is beyond my expectation. We were so full and even had leftover to bring home, while we spent less than $30 per person.Parking: they have parking lot in front of the restaurant, but spaces are limited.

This place presents the classic Taiwan Veteran village noodles flavor. After World War II, KMT moved to Taiwan. Coming with them is the military and the military family. They are offered housing as part of the benefits and they often stay in the same house after retirement. The housing establishment is referred to as (military) family village. People were from mainland China and being their family flavor with them. Infused by Taiwanese flavor and preferences, here it created an unique cuisine. Chia Ma Ma is a well known spot in Taiwan Taichung. They still shine and shine even further in US. We have been here several years. Love all the noodles and side dishes. Note: cash only.

Placed a phone order and when I arrive to pick up, I was told cash only. I asked if they had an ATM and was told there was a bank few blocks away. If you're going to evade taxes at least let customers know on the phone or online that you are cash only.

Pretty mediocre CASH ONLY Taiwanese food. We ordered popcorn chicken, fried pork chop, braised pork belly gua bao, and hand-cut braised pork belly with rice.

I've been here about 20+ times & totally forgot I did not write a review. It's a small mom & pop Taiwanese spot. It's in a strip mall type thing. Found this by chance when getting Bonchon one night & decided to drop in.Customer Service: Excellent. They warn you ahead of time by telling you it's *CASH ONLY.* They're super friendly & welcoming. They try their best to explain the dishes. Very polite. Recent trip there's a younger guy & he's super nice & respectful. They do get busy - so be wary. It's small spot & tables are limited.Ambiance: Cozy & cleanFood: AMAZING! I love their fried pork loin & popcorn chicken. Pork loin is tender & flavorful. The gravy on the rice is superb. The egg is yummy. The popcorn chicken is seasoned to perfection. It's cruchy and moist. My SO enjoys the pork belly over rice. The Iced Milk Tea is delicious & perfectly balanced sweetness helps with the meal.Free water & Tea is available. You clean up after yourself. So be kind & tidy up.Parking: there's decent parking and there's mini lot.
