Good place. Nice food. Chinese and Korean mix. Another location on 144-20 Northern Blvd Flushing New York, 11354 near Parson Blvd right before Great Wall Supermarket. (大中華超市) Never been here before. They speak Korean and the menu is in Chinese and Korean language. The restaurant sign is Korean, Chinese and English language. Use both entrance to get inside the restaurant if Park in the back or park on street or somewhere else.

Classic. Sam Won Gak -Bayside- is old school Korean Style-Chinese in all the right, delicious ways. The restaurant is brightly lit, and clean. Decor is 90's style Asian American Living Room - think lots of wood, landscape paintings, and usually some community program on the tv. So yes, not exactly romantic but it is nostalgic as if you're visiting your parents or grandparents home. Now, the service is no frills, but not unfriendly. Also, it's nice to see that employees seem long-term; which say's good things about management. This time I went on a rainy night so I ordered Noodles with Chop Suey Soup (Jjampong) because I really craved something with broth. The noodle soup definitely hit the spot. It was savory, not too spicy loaded with vegetables and some seafood (largely squid, shrimp, etc.). My group also ordered their famous Shrimp with Pepper and Garlic Sauce which tasted fresh, sweet and slightly vinegary. Needless to say, it was a hit and consumed in marathon speed. Their fried dumplings seemed to have changed- but for the better. They're bigger, a bit doughy, crisp and you can really taste (I think) the chives. Of course, all the dishes come with little servings of kim-chi, raw onion, yellow beets, and undiluted Black bean sauce. My family and I have been going here for years now, and though a lot has changed in the neighborhood, this establishment has been in a positive way pretty consistent in terms of food, service and management. Also, kudos for actually having a parking lot!- though yes, during the weekends and holidays it can get busy. Still, this is a place to try especially if you like good comfort food and Korean dramas (ever seen one where black bean noodles aren't eaten at least once by the characters?)

Been coming here for a while and love the food. They have a great lunch special which is basically a combo of noodles with some other dish of meat or vegetables. The servers are very attentive and fast. The place is pretty wide and there are a good amount of seats even for larger parties. Can't wait for my next lunch visit here. Amazing food, truly.

I ordered sweet and sour pork, jjajang, and jjamppong for lunch.I didn't eat anything that tasted good. The seasoning, ingredients, and preparation were all disappointing...

I ordered food without salt due to hypertension. The male owner is rude to answering phone calls saying, we are busy now, and didn’t seem to pay attention to special instructions on last order. We will see on this order.

As a lunch special, we ordered two menu items - sweet and sour pork, black bean paste, shrimp and gospel rice - and the regular menu, Samseon Jjamppong, so that two people could eat deliciously and leave a pleasant memory.

Among the lunch special $13.99 menu, I ordered mapo tofu and chose fried rice. You can also choose black bean noodles or white rice. It's a shame it wasn't very spicy, but the amount was just right. They gave me some warm tea and I enjoyed it. They gave us extra onions and pickled radish, were friendly, and had a nice atmosphere. It's clean. Gochu Jjamppong ($13.99) also has a lot of seafood..

Very old school Korean Chinese food. There was a reason all the customers are at the advanced age lolNot sweet enough, nor salty enough and very tender noodle :)

My friend was in town and was craving for some classic Korean Chinese cuisine. I'm all down for the old school restaurant vibes but the food was nothing extraordinary. For a Sunday night, it was a bit slow. I've been to the Flushing location before and was told the Bayside location was better. Can't say I agree much but at least the customer service was alright. The tang su yook flavor overall was lacking for me and was over powered by the use of cornstarch in its sauces. It was like gelatin at that point. Jja jang myeon was decent. Veggie platter was saltless which is fine if you like to add your own table salt.

Very delicious food. We got jjangmyeon, jampong, fried mandoo, and tangsuyuk. They all came in huge portion. The jjampong was filled with fresh seafood, very generous. Fried mandoo got plenty of fillings and it has crispy outer layer. Tangsuyuk might be the winner of the night as it’s very crispy but soft at the same time, the sweet sauce is not overwhelmingly sweet.
