Shelby's catered my friend's special occasion last night. Honestly, I've been to many other catered events by them. Last night, they knocked it out of the park every time. It's not just about how well the food was prepared, or how always on time, also the attention given. Truly, how great it all always tastes. It's hard to prepare high quantity trays and items and make it all taste great. The larger you do, the harder it gets. Has always been fantastic. Last night ,the frsh sliced turkey with gravy on the side. Super crispy salad will never go forgotten.

This deli is horrible. I called my order in early. I showed up and waited. I stood there for a long time and had to hear about the tattoos and scabbing. No one gave me an update for a very long time. More tattoo talk and that was it. Hire some people that care about your customers.....

Food here is delicious. I especially love the veggie omelet and the homefries. Croissants are very good too. I have just one complaint right now. This deli needs to deliver earlier. 9:30 a.m. is too late. If this place delivered earlier, I would order more often. I get take out almost every day. Most of the time, I can't wait until 9:30 so I order from the Dunton Corner Deli. I prefer Shelby's (this place) but they deliver too late.

Don't make the mistake thinking this is anything like the old bellport deli. Bought some salads there and they were so bad I had to return them the next day. I had to wait to speak to the owner. When he appeared, I asked him to taste the salad and he refused saying the people who made the salads were fired. He hesitated returning my money, but eventually did. Beware, this place is terrible. I have been a customer long before he bought the place, but it was never this bad.

I got one, plain meat on a roll with mayo and black pepper. THAT’S ALL. No lettuce, tomato or cheese. No sautéed black truffles, no gold flakes. No even small amount of macaroni or potato salad that used to come with EVERY sandwich. This was a plain and small, instead of normally packed NY deli sandwich. It was $12.99. Was it good? It was fine. No flavor, it was protein. The price was OUTRAGEOUS. Highway robbery. Don’t tell me small businesses are suffering, this is absolute price gauging and it’s disgusting. If I were the owners, I would be embarrassed to charge members of our community such jacked up prices. Our family will not eat there again. Why? Because we can get a larger, better tasting sandwich at our other neighborhood delis, with fixings AND a side for this same price, and it will be far more worth the cost. We am not happy about writing a bad review and truly disappointed in Shelby’s. I had hoped we would see a good menu and reasonable prices, but Shelby’s Kitchen and Catering ownership has made their choice and it is wrong.

Wonderful local place, food quality and selection markedly improved from the last owners. Had a few issues with orders being wrong when it is very busy, but it seems they are still working out their system.
