This place is my only real experience with arepas, and I think they have spoiled me... I have a hard time imagining any better than these! The flavors and textures of the fillings and the various sauces are so delicious. Not "spicy" so much as very flavorful. I have had the paella (YUM) and have been meaning to get down there for their weekend specials. If you live or work downtown, it's a great spot for a delicious, filling, affordable, and fast lunch and/or dinner! The music selection is always on point, too.They also own a food truck that serves food on location regionally, which is how I found them in the first place. Catch em if you can. Highly recommend!Dietary restrictions: Arepas are naturally gluten-free & corn-based. I believe almost everything on the menu is gluten free except the "mojito" sauce. Dairy free as well if you request no cheese. Delicious!

Owner explained how he cooks with flavor and not making the dishes too hot with spices. My husband and I had the same dish and made it a Happy Dish. Loved it! Had the dessert too which we shared. Nice little eatery that is intimate. Will be back.

The arepas here are absolutely delicious. I came in for a late lunch today and it definitely hit the spot. The owner came and talked to me as I was looking through the menu, and he recommended an off-menu arepa that I happily ordered. It had the stewed beef + chorizo + potatoes + lots of other good stuff I can’t remember. 4 sauces were all unique and delicious. Yuca fries were great too! I will definitely be back to try more stuff.

Excellent service, food and ambiance! The owner did a wonderful job of explaining the food and offering great recommendations. Service was swift and accommodating. Food arrived piping hot, meats were tender, flavorful, and moist. Sauces were bright, fresh and went great with the arepas. Portions are pretty big too! Overall, will definitely come by again and recommend to anyone in town!

Every single thing we got at Happy Pappy was delicious. I had hallacas, which was superb. The tequenos were perfect, especially the ones with guava jelly in them. My wife had La Catira arepas, which was great. And the SAUCES! All homemade, all incredible. We will definitely be back.

I had never had arepas or yuca fries before, but my goodness, I will absolutely be back! First of all, the arepas are 100% GF, so that's fantastic. Secondly, the 3 sauces are amazing (and they give you the whole bottle to use!). Third of all, the food is just delicious and made fresh, with love. The staff are friendly, helpful, and just overall kind and caring. DEFINITELY try this place out.Dietary restrictions: All of the Arepas and fries are gluten free!
