Great food,prices,and friendly staff.

Very friendly staff and reasonable prices. I left very satisfied with my hair which was shocking because I have long think hair that usually frightens people. Took longer than usual for just a simple blow out but overall I was a happy customer.

Carol was great. I was super please with my hair. Everyone walked out with flowing hair. The stylist all did great with various types of hair texture. The prices range from $15-$25 for wash and set. I will definitely be a regular of Carol.

Best Bronx salon ever!!! I just moved back from college at Albany and I was looking for a salon that meets the same standards.I honestly hate the salons I been to in NYC especially the Bronx because I never felt satisfied with the results. I was on a mission to find a good salon in NYC since I would be living here for a while.I selected this salon randomly. I was walking down the block to go to my usual salon ( which was really far by the way) but I saw Acela Salon (which was only 5 minutes away walking distance!!) and decided to give it a shot without having anyone recommending it to me. It was a huge risk going to a salon you randomly selected, but when I entered the salon I fell in love with it .The people are really nice and they really take their time with your hair, which I liked. i went on a Saturday afternoon and it was not really packed which I liked. In other salons in the Bronx I feel like I being rushed especially when they wash my hair combing it out. This salon definitely reminds me of the salon I went to back when I was at school in Albany . The results was amazing and I am definitely going there again!!! You won't be disappointed!! =)

Acela's is a family-owned and run Dominican beauty salon (with barber!!!) that is completely under-promoted and somehow is always going strong. Do you know what that means? It means the locals know what's up, and so do I... And you're about to, too. The first thing you should know is that your best bet is to make an appointment and show up a little late (in my experience, this is actually the golden rule of Dominican salon-going). Also, if you're short on time, don't go on a Friday night. After that, you're set. I think Miriam is the best stylist there, she's also the most fun, but the others definitely hold their weight. The location is odd and unexpected, but if access is easy or close to you, it's worth the trip. The unpretentious space itself could probably use a facelift, but it doesn't affect service or comfort, so I'll mind my own business! The cuts, treatments and stylings are all super cheap, and no quality is sacrificed. The stylists have a great memory for your tastes and tendencies, even if you only go sporadically. Finally, the music is always great, by which I mean super-Caribbean... The kind of stuff that'll put pep in your step while you pamper your looks!
