Love their salmon dish and their tacos! Can't go wrong here!
Great cuisine. The service is rich a with unequaled personal touch. The food is unforgettably delicious.
Amazing food, great service. Will definitely be back. The only reason im giving 4 instead of 5 stars was the very loud music outside, it was hard to hear the person sitting across from me.
Where to start. Had a pretty tepid date here but the guac and tacos were very tasty. That being said, portion sizes were on the smaller end which was just the right size for me as I was only looking for a snack. The waitress/ hostess at the time was kind of dismissive and rude at moments but a male waiter/ host was incredibly attentive and warm. I was tempted to make this review 4/5 stars for him as he really rescued the ambience of the place. Drinks were bit weaker than what im used to but were unique. Place was very cute overall but note about some of the clientele: two creepy guys sat at a table in the corner leering at the women in the restaurant the whole time. A hostess went over to chat with them pretty consistently and they were just there to chat at a table apparently. Their gross vibe was unpleasant to deal with and wish management had ushered them to the back or something if they were there to hang out with a waitress.
The drinks are delicious, the food is fresh, the prices are great and the environment was perfect. Nice calm crowd. Perfect for the mature happy hour.
I've had Cocina Chente bookmarked since pre Covid. It was a Sunday evening and my friend and I wanted to step out for drinks & food. After seeing their new summer cocktails on IG I knew Cocina Chente was the plus for us to go. So glad we did!!!! My friend arrived prior to I did & was immediately seated. As soon as you arrive there is a hostess standing outside. I was greeted then pointed in the direction to my guest. I loveeee the Beauty & The Beast decor pieces. So vibrant, giving great IG pic backdrops. The menu is accessible via QR code placed on a vase holding red flowers. We started with medium spiced guacamole (offered in mild, medium or spicy). The guacamole was very fresh as were the chips. The medium wasn't spicy to me, next time I'll definitely go with the spicy. For cocktails I had the El Guapo (seasonal drink, try it while you can), mezcal w/ jalapeño & soooo good. For my next drink I had the El Chapo, another spicy drink (did I mention spicy drinks are my thing?) also very good BUT spicier than the first drink. This drink is not for you if you can not handle spice. For my entree I had the Chicken Nachos, presented in a cast iron skillet, pipping hot, plated perfectly and very tasty. Our waitress made sure we were good the entire time, bringing more water & to go boxes. I'm so happy I was able to finally make it here. I look forward to coming back very soon for happy hour!
This place is right down the block from my sisters place, so we decided to try it. The restaurant is super cute, has outdoor Dining, is child friendly, with good service. The food and drinks are really good but smaller portions. Would defiantly recommend.
Stumbled on this happening spot after biking around Van Cortland Park and looking for a good spot for dinner. While the music was a bit loud, the outdoor space was super pleasant. Waited over 30 mins for food and dishes were not hot. Kitchen was overwhelmed. Fortunately, we still enjoyed our experience.
The steak quesadilla was amazing, the churros were so good and the Pendeja cocktails and passion fruit mojitos were on point as well! Definitely a new go to spot.
Really tasty enchiladas and other Mexican fare at decent prices. Guacamole is made fresh and completes any meal. They’re not keen on making substitutions to accommodate dietary restrictions which can be a real struggle so be prepared and look at a menu before stopping in. Overall, the service is still satisfactory and the atmosphere is very welcoming. I’ll be back next time I’m in the area.
They are overpriced on everything. Pinot noir red win small quantity 15$, Pulpo very small fried octopus 22$, 1 small box guacamole 13$, and coke can 4$ Lol, chicken fazita all onions 6 pieces small chicken 25$Badly over priced, and worst customer service! Don’t waste your money until you’re not a rich
Food was on point drinks are the best. Little slow but its understandable. My go to place.
Stopped by during Sunday brunch and I was really excited to bring my mother to a local neighborhood place. I am sad to say the food was not great. There are not many options on their menu. We all thought our food was a bit bland. I sent my dish back untouched because my steak was undercooked. The waiter took the food back and did not offer any alterations. I then spoke with who appeared to be the manager, who said this was not the restaurant responsibility and that if I did not like my food that was not the restaurants problem. The conversation was ridiculous and hurtful. I also ordered a side of salsa which came late. Before it made it to the table, I let the waiter know we would no longer need it since we were asking for the check. This was still put on the bill.Places such as this one, should do their best to accommodate clients and be friendly.Over all is a pretty place and the drinks are good. I would not recommend. There are great Mexican restaurants on the LES for those wanting great service and amazing food.
The rest. Is a cool spot to hang out. However, we were not pleased with our drinks. We ordered sangrias it tasted like wine with bunch of ice. The beer was warm. Food chicken on the tacos was dry. Nachos the toppings looked like it was heated at the microwave. It was dry and nachos were soggy!
This place is somehow good but, the service is truly truly not the best and the wait time for food even on weekdays is soooooo so long, and they will tell you that you have a max time to be seated without even acknowledging how long it takes to get your food, in our case it took over an hour. Also, if you’re going with 3 persons, be expected to pay $170+. I will note that the cocktails are some of the best mezcal cocktails I’ve had, comparable to the ones I’ve enjoyed in Mexico City. The service just is not it, not the friendliest either, which makes you regret the long drive, if you’re not already in the Bronx. The quesadilla I ordered was somewhat disappointing, very underwhelming.
