I wasn't acknowledged when I first entered, once noticed staff appeared hospitable. I'm vegan and ordered lentil soup, first time trying Indian version which was a bit thin, not my usual but good, spice, curry and flavors were obvious, which I like, reasonably priced and appreciate as the area doesn't appear to have many options for my diet.

I’ve had lunch here several times and it’s typically a pretty slow go. The food is solid, lunch special prices are fair, but overall a bit lackluster. I’m not sure of other options in the area or if they are more of a takeout operation but it’s a solid lunch

ordered delivery from here. I got their fish (salmon) tikka masala. the order comes with a whole takeout container of rice which i initially thought was a lot but it turned out to be about the right amount. i finished my order in one sitting. i did have to force the last few bites but it was really good. the tomato flavor really came through and the cream kept the sauce light and easy to eat. there are decently sized chunks of salmon which is great because there is nothing else in this dish- no veggies onions or anything. i was happy with it though. flavor was great and i was full. would order from here again although it was a little pricey.

Food was great, waiter was excellent in suggesting a dish and describing them. Service was excellent. I have eaten there a couple of other times and had a great experience. Good ambiance and they allowed us to go in with our lapdog service animal in training even though they were not too familiar with laws. They were interested in learning more for future clients that may come with a service animal or customer complaints of allowing a dog and know what to ask and say as far as their rights etc. Thus able to explain that by law they have to accept service animals due to owner handicap whether physically or mentally. I will be eating there often and at times with my service dog Maya

On 11/11/23 I went to the location on Morris Ave and it was the worse Indian food experience ever!! I spent $52 and I could not believe the condition of the food. I ordered the vegan aloo saag and the potatoes pieces were huge. There were also no chick peas in the spinach which looked like they came out the can. Also, I ordered the seafood curry which stated it included salmon, shrimp and crab, but the only fish in the meal was muscles which were rubbery and disgusting. Also the cucumber sauce was watered down and the vegetable samosas were too huge and inedible. I have enjoyed Indian food for years but it makes sense why they have a B rating on the window. Desperate measures is what I think of when I think of hungry bird. Never will eat there again. If there were zero stars I would give it. Food was overly seasoned and not fresh.

Little spot in the Bronx for classic Indian food. Delish, Hot, Fresh! Please stop by and grab something for dinner or, if you have time, sit down for a nice meal.Vegetarian options: Be sure to have the paneer saagwala.

I go here for the Kashmiri Pulao. It's a coconut rice with spices and fruit and it is delicious. I always order ahead and they are always friendly and nice.

I adore this restaurant. The food is delicious, and the in house staff are always friendly. However, they need to get a new delivery guy. He presses people for tips when he doesn’t complete the full delivery. I had a previous encounter with this delivery driver, and he does not like to come to the door. Even if it’s requested on the app.On top of that, he’ll question you for the tip amount. Like?Due to this, I only do cash tips in person. I had the cash tip, and as expected he didn’t do the full delivery. I came to the entrance of my building and as expected he pressed me for not tipping him on the app. In his words, “You don’t like to tip?”.My advice to anyone ordering delivery, choose pick up. I do not feel comfortable with this guy handling my food. For this, I will not be ordering takeout from Hungry Bird. Only dine in or pick up.*disclaimer: there’s usually more than one driver, however I’m specifically talking about the dude in the glasses.
