OMG, I went there to buy myself a birthday cake. I ordered it over the phone, and I asked for Raspberry Cream, a buttercream vanilla cake. Well, the next day, I went to pick it up, The young girl informed me to pu it in the refrigerator because it was just made. I brought it home, and when I opened it, it was simply gorgeous. When I cut into it, it was delicious!!!! It was such a delicious cake.I was out of my mind.We finished it in two days!!
This is a long standing Italian bakery that has been around since 1956. They are well-known for their rainbow cookies, so I went with those and also their Italian butter cookies. Both of these were very fresh and absolutely delicious. This is a humble family run place with very basic decor. However, it is the quality of the food that matters. And its high quality is the reason this place has been open for almost 70 years!

Went to Sal & Doms for my mom and aunts surprise birthday. As a longstanding pastry shop within the neighborhood my family was well aware of the quality of the service provided, however, we had never ordered a cake there.For this event, it being their 70th, I knew I wanted a two tiered cake with imprinted pictures of my mom and aunts life on it, however, I putzed around on the flavor profile for sometime.I pitched ideas to the staff, at times it seemed endlessly, but after sometime and careful thought I went with placing an entire order thinking that was the route I wanted to take, only, however, to scrap those entire plans a week before the party, and going with my first choice that being a white chocolate mousse and raspberry jam filling with almonds around the outside. The staff didn't even bat an eye on my 360 when I came in to make the sudden change.I have to say..not only did the cake turn out exactly as I explained it to the staff but...hands down..it was the best cake I have ever eaten. The amount of compliments on it were endless among the entire guest list, this coming from a family of over 50 with longstanding ties to the Bronx, and with it, their own favorite bakeries.Thank you Sal & Doms for all your hard work, attentiveness, and above all else, continued high quality baking! All your hard work made this party one that I hope will be remembered for a long time to come.If nothing else, know you have a new generation of continue customers!

Ordered a Carrot Cake for a Birthday The cake was 95% Cream. When we cut into it we couldn't believe what we saw.. each layer of cake was about 1/2 inch.. so in total we got about an Inch of cake and the rest was all Cream... I've gotten regular Italian cakes from them and they were good.. But this was crazy.. No one could eat it.. Did nothing but apologize to our guests
I love everything about this bakery from the cookies to the cannoli's to the cheesecake! The staff is very friendly and accommodating even on a busy holiday. I would definitely recommend going to Sal & Dom's!

The reason I’m updating my review is that multiple times we ordered birthday cakes from here and they make and promise us the wrong cake if you order chocolate why In the hell would you make vanilla I even show the girl at the counter the receipt for it and she just stood there with the “sucks for you look” on her face and then says I’ll see what I can do and doesn’t do nothing about it. Something happened to either the cooks or management but this place is going down hill even the cookies are getting worse they taste more like the cardboard box with crème on it then actually the cookie. Please find a better pastry shop.

Never had the pleasure of trying anything here, I'm way over in Pelham Bay. I asked my mom and she told me that everything here is absolutely delicious. Her neighbors used to always get pastries from Sal & Dom's to bring over to my Grandma's. I'm going to make my way over there! I feel like I'm missing out on something very very special.
