This bookstore is perfect, intimate, beautiful, and they sell wine and popcorn! You must visit, the locals are lucky, all I can say.

2024, the year someone, anyone finally got me to read fiction consistently for an extended period of time. Acknowledgements to @tenanaan for her forever reaching third eye into the souls of readers. She and the staff at @thelitbar always push the envelope to find word seekers' arrangements of pages that defy their norms and push their brains into a separate reality. This morning I completed this work by the great #VictorLavalle . I somewhat read this book out of order after having read #LoneWoman January 20-January 25. I initially had not selected this work out of a group of 7 that Tenaja gave me to choose from. I thought I had already seen this on #AppleTv+. I selected Lone Woman, loved that, only to discover that, in reality, the series I thought I saw was not #The Changeling , it was M. Night Shyamalan's: Servant. The Changeling is a pounding thriller that will keep you guessing incorrectly from beginning to end. It will capture your attention with a rolling villain in all aspects of this real life/scifi/real life saga. Who is the bad guy/bad girl? Who should be arrested, hung, or given the Presidential Medal of Freedom? The question is: Who will make it? Is making it even an option? What is a win? Does "Happily ever after exist? It's worth stopping at The Lit. Bar to visit, read, drink, buy books that typical book sellers aren't selling. There is nothing in the world like being introduced to a world that has coexisted in the world you live in, without knowing it was there the whole damn time. Plan a trip to The Bronx, if you are already in the Bronx, make it your destination for new reading interest and a great reading vibe.

I love this bookstore!! This is a Black, Latina woman owned brick and mortar bookstore in the Bronx! There's such a great selection of books by diverse authors and their children's book section always has something great for the kids. Plus, there's an area in the back where you can relax and have a beverage in the back. Everyone who works there is also super friendly and helpful.

I recently attended a book launch here for the 2nd time and I absolutely love this place! There is no other place like The Lit Bar. So accommodating and clean. The book categories are endless!

Love this bookstore for it’s intimacy and the fact its #BXMadeI purchased 3 books (when I came in for 2) and I can’t wait to delve into them. R&B music was playing non stop bangers so I was in the zooooneeee. Nice and empty on a rainyday.Only 4 stars because I felt the workers could’ve been more engaged with guests in the store. It took about 20 minutes from when I entered for me to be greeted/offered help. One worker recommended a self-help book, and told me her other co-worker would help me find another. Well the other co-worker never acknowledged me, just more of swam around which is okay, sometimes we get nervous. No one offered for me to put my coat anywhere, show me around, asked if it was my first time, what books I have already read or ones I want to get into…. I feel they’re missing a mark with talking to guests and finding out what they need

Great selection of books, with an emphasis on writers of color. Bar menu includes an array of whites, reds, and sweet wines. Loved the environment, and the music is on point. Wonderful place to read and relax.

I'm tremendously glad that there's a bookstore in the Bronx again, and this place absolutely fills one's craving for new books. The space is lovely and they have a good mix of books. I particularly liked how they highlighted local and NYC authors, and a few of the books were actually signed as well which was really cool. The bookkeep provided a suitable recommendation for my friend and I appreciate how knowledgeable she was. Overall this is a great boon to the community, and they put on a lot of local events which is just fabulous. The next time I'm in the area I'll be sure to stop by again.

I loved the selection at this bookstore- truly something for everybody! I always appreciate when a store has a really comprehensive children's section and nonfiction section. Love the central focus on black writers. The interior of the store was beautiful and the wine bar in the back is a very nice touch. If I lived in the neighborhood I would be here all the time

This place usually gets extremely crowded during lunch. The Philly cheesesteak sandwich are very good.

I absolutely adore the Lit Bar. Extraordinary collection of books, a complete array of literature including a great children's section. Friendly, knowledgeable, nice wine bar, pleasant atmosphere. My fav place. They had an amazing sidewalk sale recently, was very fulfilling. Was thrilled to see a huge array of humanity lining up to buy books. Shout out to Lit Bar & the BX. ♥️♥️♥️♥️
