I've visited this Italian restaurant several times now, and each visit has been delightful. Their pasta dishes are delicious!! I was really craving the Cavatelli with truffle shavings, but unfortunately, they mentioned it's a seasonal item. Despite that, the overall dining experience has never disappointed me. Highly recommended!

Some folks might be quick to assume Ammazzacaffè is some kind of play on words to suggest an "Amazing Cafe"but it's actually an Italian term for a miniature glass with some liquor to mask the taste of coffee. (#1) No one should be masking the taste of the food here because everything is tasty. Add in some excellent service, intimate vibe, and overall quality experience and this is how 5 star reviews get written. The place is quaint with a sexy bar, intimate seating, and a really killer outdoor space. I had the pleasure of attending a special event in the back and enjoyed every minute of it. The staff was on it for every course and was good about directing guests to the back. They were quick to refill drinks, wines, and keep the place looking ship shape while they transitioned for the next course. Every item I sample, I enjoyed immensely. The gramiga, torcia, and agnolotti pastas were fresh and tasty with every bite. Folks who love a bolognese option would appreciate the garganelli, as well as the reginette which features a pork ragu. Bonus points for scoring their campanelle nero, which is their special squid ink based pasta. From their creamy and delectable burrata to their polpette meatballs, I don't think there's a dish where one can really go wrong. The sea trout tartare is an interesting option, as is their sunchoke hazelnut pesto. Their barbarbietole is a summer palate pleaser with roasted beets, smoked ricotta, pistaachio, and pickled fig. Their coppa is a roasted pork collar ($35) but it is still not as mighty as the anatra ($42), a dry aged duck that is their most expensive entree. While folks might love the pollo ($32) chicken breast, I think most everyone else will appreciate the pesce ($37) grilled branzino or the manzo ($40) braised short rib. The latter is so good that it's hard to call it a shared dish when I can easily kill it all on my own. Finish off the meal with one of their extremely extensive amaro + dessert selection. The former is where the name stems from and the choices are flat out overwhelming. No matter the choice, it'll be a great way to end what should be an outstanding meal. ___________ (#1) "Coffee killer." My photos:

Amazzacaffè was in a word: delicious. All of the pasta is made in house and is absolutely so fresh and incredible--you have to try at least one dish while you're here because of how well it's made! The meatball appetizer was also just a chefs kiss moment--the basil pesto sauce is something I could eat every day and never get tired of. For dessert we got the yuzu basque cheese which was perfect in every bite. Each cocktail was also SO well balanced and I loved that they have the option to add a caviar bump to any drink. I also loved that they had they option for a fernet flight which is incredibly rare to find honestly. As for service--I saw several reviews mentioning has service--but I experienced quite the opposite. All waitstaff were incredible kind, attentive, and fast and made us some amazing recommendations when we asked. Some of the best service I have ever had! Inside the place was absolutely adorable and a lovely and fun vibe great for friends or a date night. I almost left off a star only because of the acoustics inside--this place is LOUD. We had to yell through most of the meal honestly. This is because of the tin ceilings, high ceilings, hardwood floors, and hard walls...there is nothing in place to absorb sound and that made for a very load restaurant. That wasn't enough for me to take off a star--I just won't be taking my grandpa here. That aside this was an amazing experience I cannot recommend enough! I look forward to coming back and trying more of their delicious dishes!

Ammazzacaffè is a neighborhood staple and boasts delicious pastas and salads, stellar cocktails, and super friendly/attentive staff. Friends of mine travel from Manhattan, and even NJ, for dinner here without a second thought. Well worth a visit!

Amazing! Food was phenomenal and house wine was delicious. Come on a Sunday and they have jazz at 6:30. They were so accommodating for a large party last minute. Will definitely be back!

I was really excited to try this place and even came for my birthday, but unfortunately I was disappointed. I think the move is to maybe come in the spring or summer when it's warmer and sit outside in the back where they have long picnic tables. The pasta just did not do it for me. It honestly was like not good. Kind of dull and flavorless. I mean you can see in my photos. Overpriced for no damn reason. The plating on the pasta dishes is a mess! The bread that came with the meatballs....they must be joking. The inside was smaller than I imagined. Service was ok, nothing extraordinary. Won't be coming back here!

You would pass this place just walking by, then you go inside and it's a new world. The food is just phenomenal, the chicken parm, the truffled pasta, martinis, and barratta, all just so good! I bring my family here when they visit and for special occasions, highly recommend. We usually walk to Fortunatto brothers for dessert, but we had the creme brulee once, and it was also just so good. We sit outside usually and it's a great atmosphere, my mouths watering just thinking about our meals. The burrata and eggplant were so good last time we ordered two more for the table after the first one. I just recommended this place to my friends, so I had to write a review.Vegetarian options: I wouldn't say vegan with the cheeses, but definitely great vegetarian options. My last few meals were without meat and still phenomenal. The burrata and eggplant were so so good that we ordered another round of them. Also, the Caesar salad was delicious and very large. Then I ordered a truffle and mushroom pasta that was amazing. I would double-check if the risotto is vegetarian since they usually use a stock for risotto, but that also great and no meat. I remember having a lot of options when I didn't eat meat out or at a new place, I'm not vegetarian, so I didn't ask these questions about the details but still recommend.

Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 - cozy, candlelit, love the vibe here Food: 4.5/5 Appetizers: The sunchokes in particular were great, but the burrata & squash apps did not disappoint. Mains: Everyone really enjoyed their pastas and you can tell that they were made fresh. I had the chicken parm with a side of broccoli rabe that was enough to share with another person (with leftovers) - excellent. I tried the coppa and the meat was cooked very well, but we both thought the sauce was a too salty. Dessert: Yuzu cheesecake if you have the room I would definitely come back.

Food is standard Italian fare - good local spot. Service and management is deplorable. We were seated relatively quickly, and things started off decently, but after we finished our apps we sat for 1 hour until we had to remind our server to input our entrees. So after having sat for 1.5 hours, the hostess then came to kick us out because “another party needed the table.” Of course, it’s a small venue and this is no fault of the hostess, but I’d suggest next time your server loses consciousness for an hour and is resuscitated by a group of hungry mystified people, maybe don’t tell the table to leave after they just finished their entrees.
