The best Spanish food restaurant in NY, at the level of the tops in Barcelona and Madrid. Excellent quality, excellent wines. The unbeatable treatment. The atmosphere very pleasant. We will repeat soon to be able to dine in that pleasant garden...

Highly recommend Bar Vinazo. I was there with a large group and we had arranged a tasting menu. Everything was delicious. From the bread (sourced from Winner) to the olives/cheese to the croquetas to the tortillas española to the-out-of this-world chicken, we couldn't go wrong. The chef is clearly talented. The service was also impeccable. I will be back.

Bar Vinazo has become mine and my husband's new favorite neighborhood go-to.I love the ambiance (all the light wood and lighting AND that gorgeous back patio). It's perfect if you just want to grab a glass of wine (they have all the best wines) or if you prefer, you can indulge in a dinner of delicious sharing plates. The service is great too, warm and welcoming. Highly recommended!

i read about this place in the new york times and decided to go. its modern yet has a neighborhood feel in prospect heights. i was able to sit promptly at the bar solo without a reservation. i had the granache from the happy hour menu, then had the bar nuts, the tuna belly and then the bean salad. the tuna belly surprised me lol. i wasn't expecting it to be a tin delicacy but it was really rich. the wine which i wasn't sure about actually became better paired with the tuna belly. the acid and tannins cut through its fat. i'll go again. i want to try the jamon iberica. they have the slab of meat in the back that they slice from. it's intriguing

Everything was good for what a Spanish restaurant in the US is, but nothing crazy for me. As a Spaniard my expectations are always way too high when I go to these type of restaurants. The menu was balanced and the food was tasty, but the overall experience didn’t bring me home. The thing I like the most was the margarita with Txakoli. Great combination, it was delicious! The thing is disliked the most is that they charge $7 for a small 8.4 oz bottle (we call it botellín in Spain) of beer Mahou Cinco Estrellas where in every other place I’ve been to they use a regular 11.2 oz bottle (we call it tercio in Spain) for a similar price.

Bar Vinazo is a Brooklyn (Park Slope) Spanish Wine Bar. It is configured with a 30 seat interior, a 40 seat outdoor patio and outfitted with a extensive bar. The menu sports a bevy of Spain's best meats, fish, cheeses alongside tapas and other Spanish culinary classics. I delved into a delicious pulpo tapas (octopus). The wine program is robust while the cocktails list features consumables with a Spanish flair like the signature Vinazo Martini. Bar Vinazo is a chance to enjoy Spanish culinary flavors without boarding plane.

Being from Valencia, Spain, I was really looking forward to trying this place out; a tapas place in my neighborhood. 1st impressions; As I got out of my Uber, the 1st thing that I noticed was that the place had very dimmed lighting. When I open door it was very dark, the music was very mellow and the place very quiet. It felt more like a cafe in Lyon than a vibrant, happy tapas bar in Spain. I soon learned that nobody working there spoke Spanish. I could not relate to any of the staff and they had no idea of what I was talking about at times when I tried to ask or compare something on the menu, be it wines, liquor or food to everyday common things in daily Spanish culture. They were very polite and apologized for not knwing. The food was a hit or miss; but mostly a miss. The pulpo ( octopus ) was definitely a hit. I could have eaten that dish anywhere in Galicia and I would have been impressed. The fabada was a mix; 1st thing I did was dip the bread ( for which they charge) and the flavors were amazing. Overall the dish was REALLY good but the beans were hard. We ordered the chistorra, which was good was but a tad cold; the tortilla which came with mushrooms was also good but was strangely pale and not really memorable. All the " conservas" were really good .The Bad: The croquetas, which honestly was the one thing I was most looking forward too, were utterly disgusting. They were by far the worst croquetas I have ever eaten in my 57 years on this earth. As I bit into them liquid exploded all over my shirt. I have never seen a croqueta with a liquified and runny filling. The outside crumbs were not crunchy at all and just bland. This dish alone will keep me from ever coming back. This restaurant is a far cry from what going out for tapas is all about. It has no Spanish identity whatsoever. Going back to the bread; there were 4 of us at the table that night; yet every time they brough the bread, they only brought 3 slices. If you are going to charge yr costumers $5 for bread; which is a staple at any Spanish restaurant; don't be cheap and bring out at least enough for everybody at the table.I really wanted to like this place. I miss my home in Spain and I was hoping this place could fill a bit of that yearning but instead it made me miss my home even more.

Overall good food but the pulpo is overdone and very dry. I should've listened to the other reviews and avoided it, but at least I got to experience the chewiness for myself.

Finally checked out Bar Vinazo after much hype. The space is beautiful, loved the bathrooms, smelled so nice in there. Can get a little loud inside with all the tables close together and the music but it wasn't overwhelming. Our service was great, everyone was kind and knowledgeable. The wine was super delicious (highly recommend the Albariño if you like whites). The food felt a bit like an afterthought and not worth the price. Everything we had was fine but nothing that felt special or that I would need to come back for. That said I would still love to return especially in the summer to enjoy the back garden and another glass of wine!

Fabulous addition to the neighborhood with an amazing wine list and delicious tapas. Gorgeous back patio space, too.

I was in Brooklyn for some appointments and was meeting a friend for dinner. She had mentioned that she had not tried Bar Vinazo yet and so we agreed to meet there. She made reservations in advance and I was seated early when I arrived. It's a long and narrow space, but they do manage to fit a lot of tables in there. We split an order of their pan con tomate, the pulpo, canelones, and croquetas. The croquetas were great, if a bit small of a portion for the price point. The canelones, which is basically a winter squash and sweet potato lasagna with spiced bechamel sauce, was very warm and comforting. The pulpo was the disappointment of the meal, as it was completely too overcooked and was very dry. We were just going to let it go, but our waitress noticed that weren't too enthused and took it off our bill. Honestly, we appreciated this so much. We honestly weren't even going to say anything, but I love that she took that initiative. We split their molten lava cake and it was fab. Loved it so much. Service was great the entire meal. The prices are a bit high for the portion sizes, but I think it was a pretty good meal.

Wonderful food and even better service. Friendly but respectful staff who are not coming to your table every five minutes. Didn't feel rushed. We look forward to trying more tapas!
