Food is eh. They were out of half the items on the menu. They were out of Yucca fries. While they did say they had some, they were saving them for steak entree orders…which was odd because we were the only people in the restaurant, kinda felt like they should sell them to the paying customers there at the moment. The environment is bleak and staff fine. Lots of better spots in the neighborhood.

The food was good, but the waiter Isaiah was very rude to me. He gave me ice water when I asked for no ice water, and when I asked him to get me a glass with no ice, he called me the “n-word” and spilled the water all over my shirt. Never coming back here again

So so so good!! The freshest guacamole ever, and their eggs Benedict in the brunch menu is addicting.

The food and especially the drinks were amazing! Really “authentic” Mexican food and drinks. Had a blast, the staff was more than kind. Gotta say: we’d always come back to this place (especially for the mezcal margarita on the rocks). Loved it!Vegetarian options: Loved the veggie tacos and the enchiladas!

Tried Casa Publica after reading that "Walk Ins are welcome". Came in on a saturday around 6:45 to try and get a table for 3. Restaurant was only half full when I inquired about the wait and the rudest host (he had a beard) just straight up said "no" when I asked for a table. Then he said I could try the bar and when asking when the next table was available rudely told me I was out of luck and stupid for even trying to enter his restaurant on a quiet cold Saturday. He bullied us into taking the bar seats when there were multiple 4 tops empty for us to sit at. So patronizing and put a bad taste in my mouth. Luckily the bar staff was great and their food was pretty good but the host with the beard needs an attitude adjustment and needs to learn to respect his customers.

The most instagrammable brunch spot! Food is delicious though pricey because meat is extra. I cook myself and thought the salsa was amazing. I got the huevos rancheros without meat and the portions were big enough to fill me up. If a normal person ordered it with meat it should be enough for 2. Good vegetarian option!

Casa Publica in Williamsburg, Brooklyn is a fantastic Mexican restaurant and bar right by McCarren Park. Their evolving menu utilizes traditional Mexican home cooking techniques with dishes found in the markets of Puebla, Oaxaca, and Mexico City. We walked through the doors and opened the curtain revealing a big dining room in the front and back of the restaurant with designs influenced by Mexico City’s rich architectural history. Tina helped us with ordering this evening and she is super friendly and prompt which made feels feel like we’re at home. We were lucky to catch happy hour which is from Monday through Friday, 5-7pm. Salsa and guacamole is fresh which goes perfect with our margaritas and they were happy hour specials. The mushroom and chicken tacos are one of the best I’ve had which were also happy hour. If you like steak, then you must try their skirt steak. Tender and flavorful grilled to perfection over yuca fries with their chipotle mayo is sure to make your taste buds dance. Come for a drink. Come for a bite. Come enjoy the night!Strawberry Margarita 12Mango Margarita 12Salsas Caseras 5Guacamole 14Hongos Tacos 10 ?Pollo al Pastor 10 ?Asada Yucateca 29 ?
