Love this place. Solid go-to for good breakfast food. Reasonably priced. Very friendly staff.

I come here with my family and I have to say they have thee best French toast in Brooklyn !

The cakes and pastries are good but the customer service is bad. A dark skinned person can expect to be treated poorly here. This is not just one time but repeatedly it happened . Please teach these baristas to treat everyone decently. I don’t think I want to go back there and face this treatment !!! I agree with the black customer earlier : black and brown people also live in parkslope and we also have money !!!

I just don't get the hype. First let me say that the staff couldn't be any more friendly or helpful, 5 stars to them! But ... I went in for Irish soda bread and it was more like brioche than Irish soda bread. It would have been a really good hot cross bun, wrong taste, wrong texture. Also I bought a black and white cookie which was just a sugar cookie with chocolate and vanilla frosting. It was tasty but that's not a black and white cookie, it should be more cake like. I feel like they missed the boat on both items.

Used to be a cozy spot in an historic setting, tall tin ceilings, and tasty cakes. The new space is incredibly bland, uninspiring, and a missed opportunity to create an authentic cafe experience in an historic neighborhood such as Park Slope. Lame.

Cousin John's is THE spot! There's a very friendly vibe and it is clear to see that everyone is enjoying it! The bakery items and lattes are incredible. I can't get enough of this place.

Cousin John's retains the old school feel while bringing some new school energy. The owner is a great person, he made great pastry recommendations and I left with a boxful of joy. I ended up opening this box on the train and eating an apple crumb tart and miniature cheese cake before getting home! they were

For over 35 years I have been going to Cousin John’s for the strawberry shortcake which is simply perfect… The new expansion down the block has been incredible to say the least.. I highly suggest the whole wheat pancakes with fresh fruit and whipped cream!!!
Honestly who still sells cake slices under $6 anymore? We snagged a slice of the chocolate ganache cake in 2024 for just $5.75 that was enough for 2 to share since it was so rich. The mini pies were also great (blueberry) and was also less than $6. Consider me a fan!

Such a lovely expansion just down the block from the former space. The breakfast had always been the best kept secret in the slope and now the dining space really allows for a stress free walk in. Staff are super friendly and service is quick.Kid-friendliness: The one pancake side is the best deal for tots.
