Ordered through doordash and it said max should take 30 minutes, 40 minutes go by and it still says preparing. This restaurant uses their own drivers so you have to call the restaurant for etas, I did and they said they messed up and had to start the order now and that they were sorry & max would take another 30/40 minutes. I wait 50 minutes and try to call because on their website for personal tracking it said it was still preparing, no answer. I wait and try calling again and get ignored and sent to voicemail quickly. I wait a couple minutes and try again and again and just keep getting ignored. It still says preparing and doordash wont give me my money back because the restaurant claimed it was delivered over an hour ago but I called them and the restaurant said the driver hadn't even left. I've been waiting over two hours and have not gotten any real updates.

Do not online order!!; - somehow they can accept your money but when you show up to the restaurant is closed and no one there. No one answering the phone either.

I worked at Dashi for six weeks and have yet to be paid a single paycheck. I quit at the end of June after repeatedly being told I’d be paid by the end of the week for four weeks. It is now almost September and I have heard nothing regarding my paycheck. Having spoken with other current and former employees, wage theft is happening here and I am not the only one who has experienced it.

The last takeout order I placed went through, but I arrived to find out there was a party so no food was being served. I tried going for Tuesday lunch and the place was closed.

Please update your open hours correctly. We were there on Sunday July 16th. It was raining heavily and the restaurant is not opened at all.

This place is underrated for sure! Dashi Brooklyn had amazing food and a casual outdoor space perfect to drink, eat (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), vibe, and they even have DJs some nights. Burger was 10/10, chasu don bowl (pork belly) was 10/10, wings were 10/10, Thai iced tea was 10/10. Fyi you order at the counter and they bring the food out to you. It's definitely in an interesting part of Brooklyn and seems kind of sketchy but then going inside the decor is nice and the food was just so good! The bathrooms are a bit run down but it functions and has enough supplies ...I would still highly recommend and I will be back!

We got the Dashi curry bowl with fried chicken and also braised beef. If you come, get the fried chicken. 10/10 - crispy, well seasoned, juicy. The curry is also extremely tasty with a bit of spice. Good amount of food. 10/10 come back again!

A hidden gem of a restaurant and bar! We went on a random Wednesday and were pleasantly surprised having stumbled across their jazz evening! Our night was soundtracked by a fabulous live jazz band whilst we picked away at our yummy Japanese-inspired meal. The bartender, sorry we didn't catch your name!, was super friendly and checked up on us the right amount and we'll definitely be back. As newbies in Brooklyn and in New York we felt right at home here so thank you!

Sadly have to leave a bad review even tho the food is pretty good here. I work close by so this is a convenient option for me but have had a bad experience with this place 3 times in a row now. First time they didn’t register my pick up order so when I went to pick up they had to put it in and did nothing to bump me up the line for the inconvenience, I was as patient as possible since it was busy but staff guy was rude and brought my order out almost 50 minutes later. 2nd time they made the completely wrong order which I didn’t discover until back at work and didn’t have time to deal and with most recent order they left out the avocado in my dish which was already over $20. I never ever leave reviews anywhere and understand that things happen but after three issues in a row I’m over it and won’t be ordering anymore. Save ur money.

Ordered the fried chicken rice dish which tasted very good albeit portion was on smaller side for the price. Would have given 5/5 stars but the cocktail cost $13 and was served in a plastic kiddy cup... very disappointing. Nevertheless it's close to Brooklyn Mirage so very convenient

Maybe came in at a wrong time since we were the only people eating and it was around lunch/brunch time. The food does taste amazing, but it looks like everything else lacks. The service is extremely slow and pretty much non existent. You have to order yourself at the bar and while some things are handed to you the others will be delivered to your table. So if you order your food and get your drink and sit waiting 40 minutes for food like we did and want another drink you have to go get it yourself. Every time you order you pay, so if you want another drink with your meal that's another check etc. While we were waiting 40 minutes for the food the priority goes to anyone just walking in for a coffee so if you are doing a take out you might get a better experience/service. What really erked is the fact that the tables were all dirty and sticky, at least inside. Definitely not eating in again, maybe a take out or oder out. Do have mention that the prices are really not bad, especially when everything has gotten so much more expensive.

Amazing food and drinks, frozen fruit punch was amazing on a hot day in the outdoor area. We went on a Wednesday night and they had live Jazz in the beer garden as well. Will definitely be back.

It was REALLY good. Came for the beef teriyaki and even though it was good I hoped for a bigger beef portion. The ribs were tasty too.
