We stopped by here because our initial plan didn't pan out and good thing because we discovered this gem! The food was on point and service was great. My only ish were the drinks. I didn't taste the requested flavor and it was more rum than what I expected. They tried to fix it though but I guess I had different expectations. It was the painkiller. The mojitos were okay but I'll leave the drinks out lol because the food was everything! Desert was on point, the mosaic and it was shareable! We had the Branzino and seafood linguini and man! Was it everything and then some. The pictures don't tell it all. The side rice and salad complemented the pan seared Branzino and the linguini was packed with a lovely variety of seafood like shrimp, calamari, salmon and tilapia. Now the pan seared Branzino was well seasoned and a lovely size. I have eaten Branzino at a few restaurants and this was top notch. Service was friendly, decent, accommodating and professional. We had a lovely time and we recommend for singles, couples and large groups! Cheers!

Love this place. Highly recommend the salmon, which comes with the most buttery and delicious rice. Good cocktails too!

I have been coming to Deniz Restaurant since 2008 when it first opened and it has never disappointed! The staff and owner have always treated me with the utmost respect and kindness. In a neighborhood as gentrified as Fort Greene has become, Deniz has been my go to for years. You will always see me at the bar ordering some kind chicken dish and pairing it with a wonderful Turkish wine. If you don't know, Turkey produces some of the best wine in the world! Again Deniz has been such a wonderful place to go to. You will always leave happy and with your belly full of good drink and great food. So happy this establishment is still going strong! ~ Freddie

Lunch specials are available online from Monday through Thursday. I decided to try the Chicken Shish special with Shepherd Salad. The lunch included 6 pieces of chicken, bread, a small salad & a side of hot sauce. The chicken was mildly seasoned & tasty. The bread was fresh & crisp. I really enjoyed the Shepherd Salad, it was as close to perfect as it gets. Excellent meal.

I stopped by this place recently for dinner. I ordered an entree for takeout. I love Mediterranean and Turkish food. I ordered the Chicken Adana kebab with rice and salad. They let me wait inside the restaurant while my order was made. The staff were friendly and helpful. The good was delicious. It was a little pricey but still good. I wouldn't mind dining here next time to try other dishes. The ambiance is cozy and nice.

Placed an order with this restaurant on Uber Eats app *9|12|21* & ordered a bunch of things amounting up to $170. First & foremost, their customer service & food is disgusting. By far, the worst Turkish restaurant I ever ordered from. The food makes me question if Turkish people even made it because it tasted so horrible that I don't think it's Türks making the food. Ordered 3 strawberry cheesecakes ($27) & it came melted. Looked nasty & tasted even nastier so it got thrown out into the garbage. Who puts a cold dessert with a bunch of hot plates of food? Of course, only my brainless Turkish people who lacks common sense. Couldn't even package my order properly so I don't expect the food to taste good. My pan seared tilapia was supposed to come with mashed potatoes & salad on the side but failed to include my salad. Adana kebab was awful. Mozzarella sticks were hard like a rock & filled with melted plastic inside (definitely not cheese). Sıgara böreği (cigar rolls) tasted disgusting & extremely salty. Whatever cheese was inside them definitely wasn't feta cheese. It tasted like expired cheese. Only thing that tasted borderline decent was the calamari & shepherd salad. Had my sister call them to tell them about the condition the strawberry cheesecakes came in. She called & spoke with the manager, Ayşe, who had a really nasty attitude. Wasn't going to make a big deal about the mixed salad that was missing from my pan seared tilapia but I saw a refund of $26.90 & was wondering why they felt the need to deduct 10 cents & not include the tax they owed me for it. I guess they're so broke that they're desperate for that 10 cents Which explains why they didn't include my full refund for the horrible strawberry cheesecakes. So, today I called them again & asked to speak with the manager (Ayşe aka FAHİŞE). Started the conversation calm & respectful but hard to continue that way when Fahişe kept cutting me off & speaking over me. She got upset just because I said that MY Turkish people are brainless & lack common sense. She basically got mad at the truth. Instead of getting mad at me for speaking facts, she needs to check in with her employees & re-train them but then again, she needs re-training herself because she is rude & has a disgusting, nasty & unprofessional attitude. Lacks basic customer service skills. Word of advice: 1. Learn how to package orders properly. 2. Learn how to cook properly. 3. Learn how to provide proper customer service to customers who are actually right.

We chose this restaurant because it's only a three minute walk to the BAM Opera center which we are attending that evening. We had an early reservation and the place filled up very quickly. The waitress was attentive and very nice, but unfortunately the food was very mediocre. The lentil purée soup just missed the boat. We ordered the fried clams calamari. They were too well done , over fried and very tough followed by their version of lamb stuffed cabbage, which is also also very mediocre. The only virtue of this place is proximity to Bam - otherwise very disappointing.

Food tastes as you are eating in a fine restaurant in Turkey, which is a great compliment. An extensive menu and friendly service made my visit even more enjoyable.

Deniz is one of our favorite places to get take out in Fort Greene. Our favorite dish is the salmon kebab, dinner size as we can split that between two people easily. Comes with rice (SO GOOD!), side salad, and a very chunky piece of fish which yummy sauce. We also like to get tabouleh and the falafel appetizer. Whenever I call them for takeout it takes less than 15 mins for them to get the food ready. We love this spot!

This is my go-to spot for authentic Turkish cuisine. It’s worth every penny and the service is great. My dad always orders the lamb shank and raves about it for days after. My favorite dish is the lamb Adana or the mixed grill (enough food for 2 people). And the lentil soup or tzatziki are great starters. I’ve never had a bad meal at this place whether in eat-in or take-out. It’s honestly my favorite restaurant in Fort Greene and I highly recommend you check it out.
