One of the best coffee places in the area. There was a long line when we got there on a Saturday morning and there were people working on their laptops inside the cafe.

This morning I got an oatmilk latte which tasted like watery coffee with a splash of oatmilk. Had to throw it out and go somewhere nearby. They also won't do 16 oz. lattes (only 16 oz. brewed coffee) or half caff which seems unnecessarily pretentious for the quality.

Nice place to get a bite to eat and some coffee in Carroll Gardens. The inside is quite airy, which provides a nice atmosphere. I had the breakfast sandwich on a croissant and it was delicious. I would definitely return!

The flavour of the beans is what sets this place apart from any in the area. Definitely the best coffee for 30/45 minutes walk. The 8.4 cortado was excellent, the aftertaste was a little acidic but it was welcome after having so many bitter aftertastes from coffees in the area. The milk work was expert as well.

I truly wish I could write a review of the food, but we never got the chance to taste it. We came on a warm sunny Sunday after a cold rainy Saturday. It seemed pretty crowded, but we got a table inside without any delay, 4 adults and a toddler. The hostess brought over a high chair for the little one when we sat down. So far so good. Then we waited. It was clear they were severely understaffed. During this lost era, I discovered the clasp on the high chair was faulty. I went to grab another high chair next to where I was instructed to park the stroller. When I grabbed one, I was told that they would bring it over. Fair enough. However, 20 minutes later, with our child still in our laps, I was getting mad. Also, it would have been nice to have gotten some water by this time. We hailed another waitress for both a replacement high chair and some water. She came back with the high chair, which was great. Then we waited. Another ten minutes and we had to ask for water again from a different waitress. The same one who neglected to bring over the high chair initially. She brought water! then asked us if we'd like to order drinks. We said we wanted to order food. She suspiciously pressured us to get drinks again. We repeated we were ready to order our food. She then said it would be "a while" so we should just order drinks, ie. coffee. Personally, I prefer coffee at the end of my meal, not the beginning, so this was not going well. We asked, what "a while" meant and again she refused to give us an estimate until we pressed. 40 minutes, she said. That was it for me. We'd been there a half hour and no one had even given us water, and no one had said the kitchen was backed up until this point. I can appreciate a waitstaff being asked to handle more tables than they were expecting. I've been there. But this is not the way to treat your customers. I'm generously leaving 2 stars, because the food may actually be good and/or maybe the service is better when they are not overwhelmed.

Came in for a quick cappuccino to start my day. The cafe was quiet and peaceful when I walked in, and the barista was attentive. However, once I sat and began enjoying my drink, an employee started running a large industrial vacuum all around the cafe. At 7am???! I waited to see if it would stop, but alas it didn’t! There are better places to spend your dollar in Carroll gardens, people. One star.

3.5 stars... Our food was alright. Service was extremely inattentive. There are a large selection of seats inside and a few tables outside to eat. We went on a Saturday for brunch. It was very busy and no one seemed to pay much attention that we were there. Food came out quickly, maybe too quickly, because my meal and drink were both lukewarm. We ordered the following two regular coffees, a Dona chai cardamom and rose latte, and a chai latte. We ate one order of the special which was chorizo with polenta and two fried eggs, two frittatas with brussel sprouts, caramelized onions, and diced potatoes, which came with a small side salad, one beet toast with apples and bean paste which also came with a side salad, and one of the malted pancakes with citrus mascarpone, and seasonal berries which appeared to be lingon berries. We were not asked if we wanted any more drinks, no refills of coffee, nor any water refills. We weren't asked if we were enjoying our food. Once the food was placed before us we were left alone without any other service. After a while of sitting there, we had to flag down a worker to ask for the bill. Food was alright but not anything special. This was our second time eating here. I don't think we will be back.

Good service, but the seating is super unconformable and the coffee was disappointing.

Consistently excellent, whether coffee or food. One of my go-tos in the neighborhood. Have never had a wait for a table in their eatery for brunch, which is always a plus, especially considering how delicious their full menu is!
