Fried rice with pork chop was pretty nice in terms of flavor. For what is literally fried pork, it wasn’t as greasy as I initially anticipated. Minor complaint I had about the dish though was that it was still pork chop whose bone needs to be separated by some knifing. To do that on the top of the rice was bit inconvenient and annoying.Cucumber dish was nice side kick to the rice dish.Another minor complaint I had was about the restaurant’s temperature. On the day I visited, outside was like 0 celsius and inside felt like 15 celsius. It wasn’t cold but I hoped it was warmer especially when I were to be served with ice cold water.Kinda want to try and evaluate how they made their version of kimchi as a Korean but overall my gut feeling is that I will feel somewhat lazy and hesitated to revisit here.

Great overall! We tried:-Sausage Fried Rice: sausages are pretty authentic and fried rice is delicious overall.-Mapo Tofu: not as spicy or flavorful as we liked and came out a bit cold, but they quickly fixed it once we mentioned.Cute place, good service, and comfortable space as well. Though 20% gratuity was automatically added to our bill, given the good service, I was going to give around 20%, but we weren't asked about it.

Yummy rice! Wet floors and freezing cold inside. Odd . Also takeaway boxes were flimsy and leaked everywhere.

Food was great and love the atmosphere. One decently sized complaint is that the spoons given to eat fried rice with absolutely suck. Aesthetically they look nice but they are a huge pain to eat rice with and honestly would be so much better if they gave a regular spoon or

If you want to feel like you're living in a melancholy Hou Hsiao-Hsien film sharing one last meal with your lover before they catch the last train to Pingtung, then the vibes at Fan Fried Rice Bar are on point for you. I loved the mushroom fries, which I believe used trumpet mushrooms as a base and had great textural contrast. For a main, I stuck with the classic gold plated fried "fan," which is the perfect comfort food on a windy winter night. Don't skimp on having a Taiwan beer to complete the aesthetic.

Get the sha cha fried rice

The service and atmosphere were excellent at this place! We ordered Taiwanese sausage fried rice, sha cha beef fried rice and mapo tofu. Both of the fried rice were not the best we’ve had but they were good. However the mapo tofu was flavorless and we had to add in the side chill oil in it…It’s really expensive for what it is, so be prepared to spend 15+ dollars on a bowl of fried rice if you are eating here.

Had dinner at Fan Fried Rice bar last night. I tried about 10 dishes and they were all so vibrant and delicious. Probably my fav restaurant meal this year and I eat out a lot! The fried rice was maybe the best-fried rice I ever had, there was something light and crisp about it, not heavy/oily like standard fried rice. Def coming back soon. Thanks for the delicious food and amazing experience!

Dined in on a Sunday evening. Food was great, although they ran out of mapo tofu after we already ordered it so we had to select something else. We had the steak and eggs, mushroom fried rice and fried chicken bites. To drink, we had warm sake that of course had a restaurant premium cost but was good quality, especially for the canned kind.Regarding "authenticity", my partner is Taiwanese and when I asked her if it was made as it would be in Taiwan she said that the chicken was pretty spot on as a street food item but the fried rice and steak and eggs were more upscale/fusion. She still highly enjoyed the meal. The restaurant itself was cozy and intimate. It could have been heated a bit more given how cold it was outside, but overall a great environment. The waitress was also the bartender, and did great juggling the tables and the bar.

Very nice food. Great hostess who had a lot of clear language to latch onto for the menu.Enjoyed the mushroom fried Rice. Didn't feel like it needed anything extra, but still supplemented with mapo tofu, which was an unneeded but welcomed bonus.

Came in here on a whim with a friend. It hit the spot. The shrimp balls were my favorite it has crunchy bits on top that you’ll want to put on your rice. We also ordered the beef pieces that rounded out the shrimp fried rice and cucumber salad.
