I absolutely love supporting local neighborhood cafes, so this is a very disappointing review to write. The employees were so condescending, cold, and curt with my friend and I. They aggressively walked up to our table while we were settling in and yelled that both of us needed to make a purchase in order to stay.1. Why did they assume we wouldn’t make a purchase?2. I didn’t see them make this comment to surrounding tables, and if they did, they definitely weren’t as aggressive.Other tables provided emotional support and commented that the employees were known to be very rude unless they know you or have seen you multiple times, which is ridiculous and discriminatory. There are so many other amazing vegan spots in the neighborhood that have lovely customer service — Clementine bakery being a great one and it’s right down the street! ?

I recently got the pleasure to check out the Salsa & Bachata lesson they offered at Guevara's at Clifton location: I highly recommend it for all beginners who are looking to have a great time while earning the basics of these two social dances. ????

Beautiful little fully-vegan cafe! I come here all the time for coffee and the blueberry crumble muffin. They also have awesome pastries, fancy lattes in a ton of flavors, the cutest greeting cards, some grocery items like protein bars and bananas, lovely plants and other unique gifts for sale. I love that they also sell single bananas which are usually perfectly ripe, and also bags of coffee beans. The staff members are super friendly and warm. My only complaint is that I don’t think they offer wifi—if they did, I would work here all the time. My favorite neighborhood spot!

Good stuff. Chef is awesome, great communicator. The food is always healthy and satisfying. The ambiance is good...fast, airy and light feeling in the dining zone.

Both service and quality at this place has dramatically deteriorated over the last couple of months. It used to be a great neighborhood go-to for delicious coffee and pastries, but that time has passed. The glaze on the donuts was rock hard, suggesting to me that those have been sitting out for days if not weeks and at $6 a piece, there are so many other, better alternatives. The coffee was sloppy, service rude and the place is dirty. With so many good options around like otway, clementine and commune, do yourself a favor and walk a couple more blocks for superior and cheaper options.

Absolutely wonderful vegan spot! Everything was incredibly tasty, especially the torta and the coffee! The guava donut was a bit dry but still good. I love all the decor and the funky vibe!

If you order a smothered burrito it comes with hair! Made me throw up. Literally we go every weekend and never had a problem until today. The deserts were stale you can’t even bite into them without breaking a tooth. So disappointing.

Don't miss checking out this vegan cafe inspired by Cuban dishes! They had one of the best eggplant tortas I've ever had in my life and I already miss it! All of their food tasted amazing and they have very unique coffees as well including Guava Cinnamon which was yum!! We also got their Garbanzo Empanada which was amazing and would be a great snack on the go. They also sell plants so the place is super aesthetic with pinks and greens! They have amazing brunch food so would recommend coming here for brunch. Highly recommend checking it out next time you're in Brooklyn! Here's everything we got: Torta Milanesa: Eggplant sandwich that was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had! So many complex flavors Garbanzo Empanada: So good with the dip! That dip was out of this world!! Mango Tajin Donut: So yum! Loved the mango flavor and not too sweet Guava Cinnamon Coffee: So unique loved it! Blackberry Lavender Coffee: Also loved it, never had these flavors in coffee before!Overall, highly highly recommend coming here for some delicious vegan food. I wish I lived closer to it so I could have it all the time!

Food, service, and decor have all gone downhill. Skip. Choice Market on the next corner exceeds in all dimensions.

We came at almost closing so we did not give this place a fair shot. We should have come in the morning to try their pastries and breakfast fare. Instead we tried their empanadas, and the fillings were good. I especially liked the Picadillo. The aioli dips are good too. But they're very heavy and the empanadas are very fried. I prefer a lighter empanada. YMMV My partner also enjoyed a pink and white cookie, but it wasn't particularly noteworthy. We might give this place another chance someday but Brooklyn has a lot of excellent options.

I'm so sad to write this update. I have been going to Guevara's weekly (at least) since they opened. They're always trying concept after concept. At one point they had dinner and cocktails, now they're mostly a dive bar. The Guevara's portion of the space is in a corner and appears to just be breakfast and their options are significantly limited. The space is not well kept- there was a tray of leaking rotting bananas next to the very barebones pastry case. Of course fruit flies were everywhere as a result. It's really sad to see such a special place that was so unique, cute, and friendly, turn into this. It almost goes without saying that service has deteriorated accordingly.I can't in good conscience recommend Guevara's anymore.
